當衣天主所賜之全身器械、使爾能敵魔之詭譎、

爾曹皆為光明之人、為白晝之人、我儕不屬於夜、不屬於暗、

我儕有此望、猶心之錨、堅定不移、入於幔內、

今有信、有望、有愛、此三者皆存、其中至大者、愛也、

我儕又因耶穌由信得前進而蒙此恩寵、並得立於其中、且望天主之榮為樂、且望天主之榮為樂或作因望天主之榮而誇不第此也、亦以患難為樂、以患難為樂或作因患難而誇因知患難生忍耐、忍耐生練達、練達生希望、希望不致羞愧、蓋天主之愛、以所賜我之聖神、灌注我心、

故勿失爾毅然之心、蓋此有大賞也、爾須忍耐、使爾能行天主之旨、可得所許者、

惟爾曹乃蒙選之族、有王位之祭司、成聖之國、屬主之民、主召爾出幽暗、入其妙光、欲爾宣揚其德、

真理之道、天主之能、仁義之器械在左在右、

安靜以望主拯救、斯方為善、

爾昔為暗、今信主而為光、當如光明之人而行、聖神所結之果、乃仁與義與誠、

故取天主所賜之全身器械、使爾遇難日能禦敵、成就諸事後、成就諸事後或作勝一切後仍能卓立、是以當卓立、腰束以誠、胸護以義、以和平之福音為備行之履、或作以和平之福音預備為履納於足、此外以信為盾、可滅惡者之火箭、以拯救為冑、且執聖神之劍、即天主之道、又常以神而禱、或作又恆感於聖神而禱用諸祈禱懇求、且為此警醒不倦、恆為諸聖徒求、

我心為何抑鬱、為何煩惱、當仰望天主、天主必覿面施救、我因而頌揚天主、

我儕賴聖神、而由信有望、俟得稱義、

我儕得救在望、既得所望、則不復望、人所已得者、豈猶望之乎、若所望尚未得、則忍以待之、

當頌美我主耶穌基督之父天主、緣彼按其鴻慈、使我儕因耶穌基督由死復活得重生、有永生之望、得不壞不玷不衰之業、即為我儕有原文抄本我儕作爾曹藏於天者、我儕以信賴天主大力、得保守以獲末世所將顯之拯救、

願我主耶穌基督及我父天主、即愛我儕施恩永賜我以慰藉、及賜我以美望者、

願父天主、及主耶穌基督、賜諸兄弟平康與愛與信、

試觀父賜我儕何等之愛、使我儕得稱為天主之子、世不識我儕、因不識父也、可愛者乎、我儕今為天主之子、將來如何、尚未顯明、惟知彼顯現之時、我儕必似彼、蓋必見其真體也、凡懷此望者、必自潔如彼潔然、
