Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.

Brothers and sisters, I am sure you remember how hard we worked. We labored night and day while we preached to you God’s good news. We didn’t want to cause you any expense.

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you.

雖為基督使徒、可令人崇敬、然未求榮於爾、亦未求榮於人、

受杖、繫獄、遭亂、勤勞、不寢、不食、

願我首為水泉、我目為淚源、則可為我被戮之民女、旦夕哭泣、

令我為基督耶穌之役於異邦、恭事上帝福音、俾所獻之異邦人、由聖神而成聖者、見納於上帝、

我謝自我祖以清潔之良、崇事之上帝、於祈禱間、念爾不輟、

晝夜切求、願見爾面、以補爾信之不逮、○

且服勞躬親操作、見詬則祝、遇窘則忍、

爾手朝夕壓我、精液消耗、有如夏日暵其乾兮、○

為嫠八十有四年、身不離殿、禁食祈禱、日夜事主、

蓋我在帖撒羅尼迦時、爾遣人供我所需、一而再矣、

依乎可頌之上帝、託我有榮之福音、○

況上帝選民晝夜呼籲、雖久忍之、豈不伸其冤乎、

拯我之上帝耶和華歟、我於爾前、晝夜呼籲兮、

故當儆醒、憶我三年之久、晝夜不息、涕泣以勸爾眾、

我於腓立比受苦受辱、乃爾所知、然賴我上帝、在窘迫中與爾侃侃言上帝之福音、

抑我及巴拿巴、獨無權不操作乎、誰作軍士自備餉乎、誰樹葡萄園不食其果乎、誰牧畜不食其乳乎、

此權我皆未行之、今書此、非欲爾如是待我、蓋我寧死、不使我所詡者歸於虛也、

耶穌基督之僕保羅、奉召為使徒、特簡以宣上帝福音、

惟以言行異蹟奇事、與聖神之能、使異邦順服、遂自耶路撒冷、周行至以利哩古、遍傳基督福音、

前方伯責民供億、日索糈糧與酒、銀四十舍客勒、僕從亦從而挾制之、我寅畏上帝不行是、

爾何事不及他會耶、惟我不累爾而已、此不韙請恕我、○今我欲就爾者三、亦不累爾、以我所求者爾也、非爾所有也、蓋子不必為親蓄、乃親為子焉、

日備牡牛一、肥羊六、亦備禽類、十日一次、備各品之酒、雖然、仍不求方伯之祿、因斯民役重故也、

乃此二手嘗供我、及偕我者之需、爾所知也、我凡事垂範示爾、當如是勤勞、以扶助柔弱者、且憶主耶穌之言、予者較受者、更有福也、○

然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、
