But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

只在你们中间存心温柔，如同母亲乳养自己的孩子。

身为基督的使徒，我们理当受到你们的尊重，然而我们像母亲抚育婴儿一样温柔地对待你们。

我们身为基督的使徒，虽然可以加给你们重担，但是我们在你们当中成了温柔的，就像哺乳的母亲顾惜自己的儿女那样。

惟寛柔在爾中、如乳媼之育赤子、

惟知自謙自抑、赤忱與爾相處、一如慈母之煦嫗其子女；

Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as a nursing mother cares for her children,

Instead, we were like young children when we were with you. As a mother feeds and cares for her little children,

But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.

As apostles of Christ we certainly had a right to make some demands of you, but instead we were like children among you. Or we were like a mother feeding and caring for her own children.

Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nurse nurtures her own children.

But we proved to be gentle among you. As a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children,

But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

But we were gentle in the midst of you, as when a nurse cherisheth her own children:

Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nursing mother nurtures her own children.

But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

although we could have imposed our weight as apostles of Christ; instead we became little children among you. Like a nursing mother caring for her own children,

As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem.”

Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me shall not be disappointed.”

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

I will feed them with good pasture; and their fold will be on the mountains of the height of Israel. There they will lie down in a good fold. They will feed on fat pasture on the mountains of Israel.I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’

He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.

So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Feed my lambs.”He said to him again a second time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Tend my sheep.”He said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?” Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time,“ Do you have affection for me?” He said to him,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed my sheep.

Jacob said to him,“ My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.”

Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them out, that you should tell me,‘ Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,gentleness, and self- control. Against such things there is no law.

For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
