You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.

You are witnesses of how we lived among you believers. God is also a witness that we were holy and godly and without blame.

You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.

You yourselves are our witnesses— and so is God— that we were devout and honest and faultless toward all of you believers.

in that our gospel did not come to you merely in words, but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction( surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God– not by human wisdom but by the grace of God– we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,and a sound message that cannot be criticized, so that any opponent will be at a loss, because he has nothing evil to say about us.

When they arrived, he said to them,“ You yourselves know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I set foot in the province of Asia,

You, however, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

And do not lord it over those entrusted to you, but be examples to the flock.

For you know yourselves how you must imitate us, because we did not behave without discipline among you,

“ As soon as the ear heard these things, it blessed me, and when the eye saw them, it bore witness to me,for I rescued the poor who cried out for help, and the orphan who had no one to assist him;the blessing of the dying man descended on me, and I made the widow’s heart rejoice;I put on righteousness and it clothed me, my just dealing was like a robe and a turban;I was eyes for the blind and feet for the lame;I was a father to the needy, and I investigated the case of the person I did not know;I broke the fangs of the wicked, and made him drop his prey from his teeth.

For we never appeared with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed– God is our witness–

Therefore I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of you all.

Should good be paid back with evil? Yet they are virtually digging a pit to kill me. Just remember how I stood before you pleading on their behalf to keep you from venting your anger on them.

We do not give anyone an occasion for taking an offense in anything, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.But as God’s servants, we have commended ourselves in every way, with great endurance, in persecutions, in difficulties, in distresses,in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in troubles, in sleepless nights, in hunger,by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by benevolence, by the Holy Spirit, by genuine love,by truthful teaching, by the power of God, with weapons of righteousness both for the right hand and for the left,through glory and dishonor, through slander and praise; regarded as impostors, and yet true;as unknown, and yet well- known; as dying and yet– see!– we continue to live; as those who are scourged and yet not executed;as sorrowful, but always rejoicing, as poor, but making many rich, as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

This is the reason I do my best to always have a clear conscience toward God and toward people.

But we have rejected shameful hidden deeds, not behaving with deceptiveness or distorting the word of God, but by open proclamation of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience before God.

I have desired no one’s silver or gold or clothing.You yourselves know that these hands of mine provided for my needs and the needs of those who were with me.

Here I am. Bring a charge against me before the LORD and before his chosen king. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I wronged? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I taken a bribe so that I would overlook something? Tell me, and I will return it to you!”They replied,“ You have not wronged us or oppressed us. You have not taken anything from the hand of anyone.”He said to them,“ The LORD is witness against you, and his chosen king is witness this day, that you have not found any reason to accuse me.” They said,“ He is witness!”

Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

O LORD my God, if I have done what they say, or am guilty of unjust actions,or have wronged my ally, or helped his lawless enemy,may an enemy relentlessly chase me and catch me; may he trample me to death and leave me lying dishonored in the dust.( Selah)

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is blessed forever, knows I am not lying.

Make room for us in your hearts; we have wronged no one, we have ruined no one, we have exploited no one.

Moses was very angry, and he said to the LORD,“ Have no respect for their offering! I have not taken so much as one donkey from them, nor have I harmed any one of them!”

“ I made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I entertain thoughts against a virgin?What then would be one’s lot from God above, one’s heritage from the Almighty on high?Is it not misfortune for the unjust, and disaster for those who work iniquity?Does he not see my ways and count all my steps?If I have walked in falsehood, and if my foot has hastened to deceit–let him weigh me with honest scales; then God will discover my integrity.If my footsteps have strayed from the way, if my heart has gone after my eyes, or if anything has defiled my hands,then let me sow and let another eat, and let my crops be uprooted.If my heart has been enticed by a woman, and I have lain in wait at my neighbor’s door,then let my wife turn the millstone for another man, and may other men have sexual relations with her.For I would have committed a shameful act, an iniquity to be judged.For it is a fire that devours even to Destruction, and it would uproot all my harvest.“ If I have disregarded the right of my male servants or my female servants when they disputed with me,then what will I do when God confronts me in judgment; when he intervenes, how will I respond to him?Did not the one who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us in the womb?If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,If I ate my morsel of bread myself, and did not share any of it with orphans–but from my youth I raised the orphan like a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow!If I have seen anyone about to perish for lack of clothing, or a poor man without a coat,whose heart did not bless me as he warmed himself with the fleece of my sheep,if I have raised my hand to vote against the orphan, when I saw my support in the court,then let my arm fall from the shoulder, let my arm be broken off at the socket.For the calamity from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his majesty I was powerless.“ If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security!’if I have rejoiced because of the extent of my wealth, or because of the great wealth my hand had gained,if I looked at the sun when it was shining, and the moon advancing as a precious thing,so that my heart was secretly enticed, and my hand threw them a kiss from my mouth,then this also would be iniquity to be judged, for I would have been false to God above.If I have rejoiced over the misfortune of my enemy or exulted because calamity found him–I have not even permitted my mouth to sin by asking for his life through a curse–if the members of my household have never said,‘ If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’–But no stranger had to spend the night outside, for I opened my doors to the traveler–if I have covered my transgressions as men do, by hiding iniquity in my heart,because I was terrified of the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I remained silent and would not go outdoors–“ If only I had someone to hear me! Here is my signature– let the Almighty answer me! If only I had an indictment that my accuser had written.Surely I would wear it proudly on my shoulder, I would bind it on me like a crown;I would give him an accounting of my steps; like a prince I would approach him.“ If my land cried out against me and all its furrows wept together,if I have eaten its produce without paying, or caused the death of its owners,

The LORD repaid me for my godly deeds; he rewarded my blameless behavior.For I have obeyed the LORD’s commands; I have not rebelled against my God.For I am aware of all his regulations, and I do not reject his rules.I was innocent before him, and kept myself from sinning.The LORD rewarded me for my godly deeds; he took notice of my blameless behavior.
