As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

They are doing just as they have always done. They have deserted me and served other gods. They have done that from the time I brought them up out of Egypt until this day. Now they are deserting you too.

他們在曠野中極其貪心，在荒漠中試探神。那時，神把他們所求的賜給他們，卻使衰敗臨到他們的靈魂。他們在營中嫉妒摩西，以及耶和華的聖者亞倫。地就裂開，吞掉了大坍，掩埋了亞比蘭的同黨。火在他們的同黨中燃燒，火焰燒盡了惡人。他們在何烈山鑄造牛犢，竟向一個鑄像下拜，把他們榮耀的主替換為吃草之牛的樣式。他們忘記了神是他們的拯救者——是他在埃及行了大事，

「你們這些頑固不化、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪，你們總是抗拒聖靈！你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。有哪一位先知，你們的祖先不逼迫呢？他們殺了那些預言那義者要來的先知，現在你們又成為那義者的出賣者和凶手了。你們領受了藉天使所設立的律法，卻不遵守。」

但他們仍然試探、悖逆至高神，不持守他的法度。他們退縮、背信，如同他們的祖先；他們扭曲，如同鬆弛的弓。他們的高所惹他惱怒，他們雕刻的偶像激起他的嫉妒之心。神聽了就動怒，極其厭棄以色列。
