As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

They are doing just as they have always done. They have deserted me and served other gods. They have done that from the time I brought them up out of Egypt until this day. Now they are deserting you too.

他们在旷野中极其贪心，在荒漠中试探神。那时，神把他们所求的赐给他们，却使衰败临到他们的灵魂。他们在营中嫉妒摩西，以及耶和华的圣者亚伦。地就裂开，吞掉了大坍，掩埋了亚比兰的同党。火在他们的同党中燃烧，火焰烧尽了恶人。他们在何烈山铸造牛犊，竟向一个铸像下拜，把他们荣耀的主替换为吃草之牛的样式。他们忘记了神是他们的拯救者——是他在埃及行了大事，

“你们这些顽固不化、心和耳都未受割礼的人哪，你们总是抗拒圣灵！你们的祖先怎样，你们也怎样。有哪一位先知，你们的祖先不逼迫呢？他们杀了那些预言那义者要来的先知，现在你们又成为那义者的出卖者和凶手了。你们领受了藉天使所设立的律法，却不遵守。”

但他们仍然试探、悖逆至高神，不持守他的法度。他们退缩、背信，如同他们的祖先；他们扭曲，如同松弛的弓。他们的高所惹他恼怒，他们雕刻的偶像激起他的嫉恨。神听了就动怒，极其厌弃以色列。
