And the Lord told him:“ Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

The Lord told him,“ Listen to everything the people are saying to you. You are not the one they have turned their backs on. I am the one they do not want as their king.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.

“ Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied,“ for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.

But the LORD told him,“ Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected me as their king.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Listen to the voice of the people regarding all that they say to you, because they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being King over them.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee; for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not be king over them.

But the Lord told him,“ Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected Me as their king.

And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ Do everything the people request of you. For it is not you that they have rejected, but it is me that they have rejected as their king.

Yahweh said to Samuel,“ Listen to the voice of the people in all that they tell you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me as the king over them.

今天你们却厌弃你们的神，就是使你们脱离一切灾祸和患难的拯救者；你们对他说：‘求你立一个王统治我们。’现在，你们要按着自己的支派和宗族，站在耶和华面前。”

“接受你们的，就是接受我；接受我的，就是接受差派我来的那一位。

“听从你们的，就是听从我；拒绝你们的，就是拒绝我；拒绝我的，就是拒绝差派我来的那一位。”

“他本国的人却憎恨他，就差派特使在他背后去，说：‘我们不要这个人做王统治我们。’

不过我的这些敌人，就是不要我做王统治他们的人，把他们带到这里来，在我面前杀掉！”

然而我的子民不听我的声音，以色列不愿意顺从我。我就任凭他们心里顽固，随自己的计谋而行。

你们当记住我对你们说过的话：“没有一个奴仆大过他的主人。”他们既然逼迫了我，也会逼迫你们；如果他们遵守了我的话，也就会遵守你们的话。但是，因我名的缘故，他们会对你们做这一切事，因为他们不认识派我来的那一位。

因此，我要选择折磨他们的事，使他们所恐惧的临到他们。因为我呼唤，没有人回应；我说话，他们不听从；他们做我眼中看为恶的事，选择我所不喜悦的事。”

今日不是收割小麦的时候吗？我向耶和华呼求，他就会降下雷雨。这样你们就会知道并看见你们为自己要求一个王，在耶和华眼中是行了极大的恶事！”于是撒母耳向耶和华呼求，耶和华就在那日降下雷雨，全体民众都非常惧怕耶和华和撒母耳。全体民众对撒母耳说：“求你为仆人们向耶和华你的神祷告，免得我们死亡。因为在我们的一切罪恶上，我们又增添了一件恶事，为自己要求一个王。”

“我确确实实地告诉你们：没有一个奴仆大过他的主人，也没有一个被派的大过派他的人。

学生不高于他的老师，奴仆也不高于他的主人。学生能像他的老师一样，奴仆能像他的主人一样，就已经够了。如果人们称一家的主人为‘别西卜’，更何况他的家人呢！
