Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.

Then Samuel got a very young lamb. He sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord to help Israel. And the Lord answered his prayer.

祂的祭司中有摩西和亚伦，呼求祂的人中有撒母耳。他们求告耶和华，祂就应允他们。

耶和华对我说：“就算摩西和撒母耳站在我面前求情，我也不会怜悯这些百姓。你把他们从我面前赶走吧！

之后，他才回到拉玛自己的家中，也在那里审理以色列人的案件，并为耶和华筑了一座祭坛。

在患难中呼求我，我必拯救你，你必尊崇我。”

所以你们要彼此认罪，互相代祷，好得到医治。义人的祷告有极大的力量和功效。

第二天清早，城里的人发现巴力的祭坛已经被人拆毁，坛旁的亚舍拉神像被砍倒，第二头公牛被献在新建的祭坛上。

车子来到伯·示麦人约书亚的田间，在一块巨石旁边停下来。民众劈开车子，把两头母牛献给耶和华作燔祭。利未人抬下耶和华的约柜和装着金物的箱子，把它们放在巨石上。那天，伯·示麦人向耶和华献上了燔祭和其他祭物。

撒母耳说：“我怎么可以去呢？扫罗知道了，一定会杀掉我。”耶和华说：“你带一头牛犊去，就说，‘我是来向耶和华献祭的。’

以利亚把众人召集到自己跟前，他重修已遭毁坏的耶和华的祭坛，拿了十二块石头分别代表雅各子孙的十二支派。耶和华曾经对雅各说：“你的名字要叫以色列。”以利亚就奉耶和华的名用那些石头筑了一座祭坛，又在坛的周围挖了一条能盛十五升谷种的沟，然后在坛上摆好柴，把公牛切成块放在柴上，对众人说：“你们去打四桶水倒在祭物和柴上。”他们照做了。以利亚吩咐他们再倒一次，他们又倒了一次。以利亚又吩咐他们倒第三次，他们就倒了第三次。水流到坛的四周，沟里也灌满了。到了献晚祭的时候，以利亚先知走到坛前祷告：“亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝耶和华啊，求你今天让这些人知道你是以色列的上帝，我是你的仆人，我是按你的命令做这一切事。耶和华啊，求你应允我，应允我，好让众人知道你耶和华是上帝，你要使他们回心转意。”于是，耶和华降火烧尽了祭物、木柴、石头、尘土，甚至沟里的水。

她们答道：“他在这里，就在你们前面。你们快去吧，他今天刚到城里来，因为今天人们在丘坛献祭。

你先到吉甲去，在那里等我七天，我会到那里献燔祭和平安祭。我到了以后会告诉你怎么做。”

然后，在这座山顶上把石头堆放整齐，为你的上帝耶和华筑一座祭坛，用砍倒的亚舍拉神像作柴，把那头牛献作燔祭。”
