Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Sometimes David and his men would go up and attack the Geshurites. At other times they would attack the Girzites or the Amalekites. All those people had lived in the land that reached all the way to Shur and Egypt. They had been there for a long time.

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.

David and his men spent their time raiding the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites— people who had lived near Shur, toward the land of Egypt, since ancient times.

David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. From ancient times they had been the inhabitants of the region through Shur as far as the land of Egypt.

所剩下的地、就是以下這一些：非利士人一帶地方、和基述人的全地，

掃羅擊打了亞瑪力人，從哈腓拉直到埃及東面的書珥。活活捉住亞瑪力王亞甲，把亞瑪力的眾民都用刀殺滅歸神。

以色列人卻沒有趕出基述人瑪迦人；基述人瑪迦人到今日仍然住在以色列中。

以法蓮也沒有把住基色的迦南人趕出；於是迦南人仍住在基色、在以法蓮中間。

但是他們沒有把住基色的迦南人趕出；於是迦南人住在以法蓮中間、直到今日；他們成為作苦工的奴隸。

於是約押起身往基述去，將押沙龍帶回耶路撒冷。

但基述人和亞蘭人從他們奪取了睚珥的帳篷村、跟基納和基納的眾廂鎮、六十個城。以上這些人都是基列的祖瑪吉的子孫。

那時亞瑪力人來在利非訂、同以色列人交戰。

押沙龍對約押說：『你看，我打發人來見你、說：「請到我這裏來，我好打發你去見王、說：『我從基述回來為的甚麼？不如仍在那裏倒好啊。』現在請讓我見王的面吧；我若有甚麼罪愆，任憑王把我殺死好啦。」』

因為僕人住在亞蘭的基述時候、曾許願說：「永恆主若使我再回到耶路撒冷來，我就要在希伯崙事奉永恆主。」』

以下這一段是記載所羅門王為了建造永恆主的殿、和王自己的宮室、跟米羅、耶路撒冷的城牆、夏瑣、米吉多和基色、而徵派苦工人的事。先前埃及王法老上來攻取基色，放火燒城，殺了住在城裏的迦南人，將城賜給他女兒所羅門的妻子做妝奩；故此所羅門建造了基色，下伯和崙、

摩西領着以色列人從蘆葦海往前行；他們出去到書珥的曠野，在曠野走了三天，找不着水。

押沙龍逃走，到基述王亞米忽的兒子達買那裏去了。大衛天天為他兒子悲傷。押沙龍逃走，到基述去，在那裏三年。

第三天大衛和跟隨的人到了洗革拉，亞瑪力人早已侵犯了南地和洗革拉了。他們擊破了洗革拉，又放火燒城；

永恆主對摩西說：『我要將亞瑪力這名號從天下全塗抹掉：你要將這話寫在卷冊上做備忘錄，又念給約書亞聽。』摩西築了一座祭壇，起名叫「耶和華尼西」，說：『我舉手指着永恆主的寶座來起誓：永恆主必世世代代跟亞瑪力人爭戰。』
