因這緣故，住在鄉下村鎮的猶太人，守亞達月十四日為喜樂、宴席、慶祝的日子，彼此送食物。

耶穌又對邀請他的人說：「你預備午餐或晚餐的時候，不要叫你的朋友、兄弟、親戚或富有的鄰居，免得他們也回請你，你就得了你的回報了。相反，你預備宴席的時候，要邀請那些貧窮的、殘疾的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的，這樣你就蒙福了，因為他們沒有可回報你的，而在義人復活的時候，你將得到回報。」

不過你們當把裡面的施捨給人，看哪，對你們來說一切就都潔淨了。

因為本月的這兩日，是猶太人擺脫他們的仇敵，從悲哀轉為喜樂、從哀慟轉為慶祝的日子；他們要守這兩日為宴席和喜樂的日子，彼此送食物，也送禮物給窮人。

你當把你的份分給七人，甚至八人，因為你不知道將會有什麼禍患臨到地上。

耶和華再次呼喚撒母耳，撒母耳就起來，到以利那裡，說：「我在這裡，你呼喚了我嗎？」以利說：「我沒有呼喚你，我兒，回去睡吧。」

我父啊，請看！看看你外袍的衣擺就在我手中！我割下了你外袍的衣擺，卻沒有殺你。你要知道，也要看見我的手中沒有惡行或叛逆。儘管你在獵取我的性命，我卻沒有得罪你。
