王又指派在耶和華殿中的利未人拿著響鈸和琴瑟，是照著大衛、王的先見迦得和拿單先知所吩咐的，就是耶和華藉他的先知所吩咐的。

我回答：“像我這樣的人，怎可以逃跑呢？哪有像我這樣的人，進入聖殿裡去保全自己的性命呢？我決不進去！”

耶和華告訴大衛的先見迦得，說：

如果有人在這城迫害你們，就逃到別的城去。我實在告訴你們，你們還沒有走遍以色列的各城，人子就來到了。

便雅憫支派和猶大支派中也有人來到山寨投奔大衛。

“這子民所稱為陰謀的，你們都不要稱為陰謀；他們所怕的，你們不要怕，也不要畏懼。你們要尊萬軍之耶和華為聖，他是你們當怕的，也是你們當畏懼的。他必向信靠他的人作聖所，卻向以色列兩家作絆腳的石頭、跌人的磐石；又向耶路撒冷的居民作陷阱和網羅。

大衛王一生始末的事蹟，都記在撒母耳先見的書上、拿單先知的書上和迦得先見的書上。

有人告訴大衛：“看哪，非利士人正在攻打基伊拉，並且搶掠禾場。”大衛就求問耶和華說：“我可以去擊打這些非利士人嗎？”耶和華對大衛說：“你可以去擊打非利士人，拯救基伊拉。”跟隨大衛的人對他說：“看哪，我們在猶大地這裡尚且懼怕，何況到基伊拉去攻打非利士人的軍兵呢？”於是大衛再求問耶和華。耶和華回答他說：“你只管起來，下到基伊拉去，因為我必把非利士人交在你的手裡。”大衛和跟隨他的人就到基伊拉去，與非利士人爭戰，擄走了他們的牲畜，又在他們中間殺戮多人。這樣，大衛拯救了基伊拉的居民。亞希米勒的兒子亞比亞他逃到基伊拉去見大衛的時候，是手裡帶著以弗得下來的。

大衛早晨起來；耶和華的話臨到迦得先知，就是大衛的先見，說：
