From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab,“ Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab. He spoke to the king of Moab. He said,“ Please let my father and mother come and stay with you. Let them stay until I learn what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

Later David went to Mizpeh in Moab, where he asked the king,“ Please allow my father and mother to live here with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.

掃羅執掌以色列的國權，攻打他四圍所有的仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫人、以東人和瑣巴諸王，以及非利士人。他無論往何處去，都打敗他們。

上帝說：『當孝敬父母』；又說：『咒罵父母的，必須處死。』你們倒說：『無論誰對父母說：我所當供奉你的已經作了奉獻，就可以不孝敬他的父親。』這就是你們藉着傳統，廢了上帝的話。

所以，我一看出我的事怎樣了結，我希望立刻差他去，但我靠着主自信我不久也會去。

士師統治的時候，國中有饑荒。在猶大的伯利恆，有一個人帶着妻子和兩個兒子往摩押地去寄居。這人名叫以利米勒，他的妻子名叫拿娥米；他兩個兒子，一個名叫瑪倫，一個名叫基連，都是猶大伯利恆的以法他人。他們到了摩押地，就住在那裏。後來拿娥米的丈夫以利米勒死了，剩下她和兩個兒子。兩個兒子娶了摩押女子，一個名叫俄珥巴，第二個名叫路得，在那裏住了約有十年。

耶和華的靈降在耶弗他身上，他就經過基列和瑪拿西，經過基列的米斯巴，又從基列的米斯巴過到亞捫人那裏。

我也娶瑪倫的妻子摩押女子路得，好讓死人可以在產業上留名，免得他的名在本族本鄉的城門中消失了。你們今日都是證人。」

王對撒督說：「你將上帝的約櫃請回城去。我若在耶和華眼前蒙恩，他必使我回來，再見到約櫃和他的居所。倘若他說：『我不喜愛你』；我在這裏，就照他眼中看為好的待我！」

撒母耳就把一切話都告訴以利，並沒有隱瞞。以利說：「他是耶和華，願他照他看為好的去做。」

「當孝敬父母，使你的日子在耶和華－你上帝所賜你的地上得以長久。

鄰居的婦人給孩子起名，說：「拿娥米得了一個孩子了！」她們就給他起名叫俄備得。俄備得是耶西的父親，是大衛的祖父。

約瑟安頓他的父親和兄弟，遵照法老的命令，把埃及境內最好的地，就是蘭塞地，給他們作為產業。

寡婦若有兒女，或有孫兒女，要讓兒孫先在自己家中學習行孝，報答親恩，因為這在上帝面前是可蒙悅納的。
