我投靠耶和華；你們怎麼對我說：「你當像鳥逃到你們的山去；

我說：「像我這樣的人豈會逃跑呢？像我這樣的人豈能進入殿裏保全生命呢？我不進去！」

耶和華吩咐迦得，大衛的先見，說：

有人在這城迫害你們，就逃到另一城去。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城鎮，你們還沒有走遍，人子就要來臨。

便雅憫人和猶大人中有人來到山寨大衛那裏。

「這百姓說同謀背叛的，你們不要說同謀背叛。他們所怕的，你們不要怕，也不要畏懼；但要尊萬軍之耶和華為聖，他才是你們所當怕的，所當畏懼的。他必作為聖所，卻向以色列的兩家成為絆腳的石頭，使人跌倒的磐石；作耶路撒冷居民的羅網和圈套。

大衛王自始至終的事蹟，看哪，都寫在撒母耳先見的書上、拿單先知的書上和迦得先見的書上，

有人告訴大衛說：「看哪，非利士人攻擊基伊拉，搶奪禾場。」大衛求問耶和華說：「我可以去嗎？我可以去攻打那些非利士人嗎？」耶和華對大衛說：「你可以去攻打非利士人，拯救基伊拉。」大衛的人對他說：「看哪，我們在猶大這裏尚且懼怕，何況到基伊拉去攻打非利士人的軍隊呢？」大衛又再求問耶和華，耶和華回答說：「你起身下基伊拉去，我必將非利士人交在你手裏。」於是大衛和他的人往基伊拉去，與非利士人打仗，大大擊敗他們，奪取他們的牲畜。這樣，大衛救了基伊拉的居民。亞希米勒的兒子亞比亞他逃往基伊拉到大衛那裏的時候，手裏拿着以弗得。

大衛早晨起來，耶和華的話臨到迦得先知，就是大衛的先見，說：
