So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there except the bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the Lord and replaced by hot bread on the day it was taken away.

耶稣答道：“你们没有读过大卫的事吗？有一天，大卫和他的部下饿了，他进入上帝的殿，拿了献给上帝的供饼。这饼只有祭司才可以吃，大卫不但自己吃了，还分给他的部下吃。”

耶稣回答说：“你们没有读过大卫的事迹吗？当时他和部下饿了，进入上帝的殿，吃了献给上帝的供饼。这饼只有祭司才可以吃，大卫和部下是不准吃的。

耶稣回答说：“大卫和他的部下在饥饿、缺粮时所做的事，你们没有读过吗？在亚比亚他做大祭司时，他进入上帝的殿吃了献给上帝的供饼，还给他的部下吃。这饼只有祭司才可以吃。安息日是为人设立的，人不是为安息日设立的。

“你要用细面粉烤十二个饼，每个饼用两公斤细面粉。你要把饼摆成两行放在耶和华面前的纯金桌子上，每行六个，每行饼上放一些纯乳香，象征这些饼是献给耶和华的火祭。每逢安息日，要定期把饼摆在耶和华面前。这是以色列人要永远遵守的约。这些饼要归亚伦及其子孙。他们要在圣洁之处吃，因为在献给耶和华的火祭中，这是至圣之物，要永远归祭司所有。”
