爾曹勿復言驕、或作勿復矜誇狂妄勿出爾口、蓋主為睿智之天主、人之所為、皆主權衡、

“ Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.

to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

“ Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the Lord,“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against You?’

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity.

Yet they say,“ The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand.”Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?

The way of the just is uprightness; O Most Upright, You weigh the path of the just.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the spirits.

If you say,“ Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting;

“ Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.
