so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on Saul’s men, and they also prophesied.

So Saul sent some men to capture him. When they got there, they saw a group of prophets who were prophesying. Samuel was standing there as their leader. Then the Spirit of God came on Saul’s men. So they also began to prophesy.

Then Saul sent messengers to take David, and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

法利賽人聽見眾人這樣議論耶穌，就聯合祭司長派差役去抓祂。

掃羅和他的僕人來到上帝的山，遇見了一群先知。上帝的靈降在掃羅身上，他就和他們一起說起預言來。

「以後，我要將我的靈澆灌所有的人。你們的兒女要說預言，老人要做異夢，青年要見異象。

掃羅派人來捉拿大衛的時候，米甲說他病了。

掃羅派人監視大衛的家，要在早上殺死他。大衛的妻子米甲警告他說：「如果你今晚不逃命，明早必死無疑。」

此後，你會去上帝的山，那裡有非利士人的駐軍。你一進城，就會遇見一群先知從邱壇下來，前面有人鼓瑟、敲鼓、吹笛、彈琴，先知們會說預言。耶和華的靈會降在你身上，你就會跟他們一起說預言，那時，你會變成另一個人。

但如果你們都做先知講道，偶然有非信徒或是不懂方言的人進來，他會醒悟到自己的罪，良心受到譴責，心中的秘密也會顯露出來，便會俯伏敬拜上帝，說：「上帝真的在你們當中！」

祭司長和法利賽人看見差役空手回來，就問：「你們為什麼不把祂帶來呢？」差役答道：「從未有人像祂那樣說話！」法利賽人說：「難道你們也被祂迷惑了嗎？哪有官長和法利賽人信祂呢？這群不明白律法的民眾該受咒詛！」曾經夜訪耶穌、屬於他們當中一員的尼哥德慕說：「難道不聽被告申辯，不查明事實真相，我們的律法就定祂的罪嗎？」他們回答說：「難道你也是加利利人嗎？你去查查看，就會知道沒有先知是從加利利來的。」

但先知講道是對人講的，為了要造就、鼓勵、安慰人。

耶和華在雲中降臨，對摩西說話，把降在摩西身上的靈也賜給七十位長老。靈一降在他們身上，他們就說起預言來，但只說了這一次。七十位長老中的伊利達和米達沒有到會幕去，但耶和華的靈也降在他們身上，他們就在營中說起預言來。
