掃羅向著約拿單把槍擲過去，要刺殺他。約拿單就知道，他父親已經決意要殺死大衛。

任何智慧、聰明、謀略都不能敵擋耶和華。

他們白天遇見黑暗，中午摸索如在夜間。他拯救窮乏人脫離他們口中的刀劍，脫離強暴人的手；

為攻擊你而製成的武器，都沒有效用；在審判的時候興起來與你爭辯的舌頭，你都必定它為有罪。這是耶和華眾僕人的產業，他們的義是從我而得；這是耶和華說的。

耶穌卻從他們中間走過，就離去了。

如果有人在這城迫害你們，就逃到別的城去。我實在告訴你們，你們還沒有走遍以色列的各城，人子就來到了。

如果他們因為認識我們的主、救主耶穌基督，可以脫離世上的污穢，後來又在其中被纏住、受制伏，他們末了的景況，就比先前的更不好了。既然認識了義路，竟又背棄傳給他們的聖誡命，對他們來說，倒不如不認識好得多了。他們的情形，正像俗語所說的：“狗轉過來，又吃自己所吐的；豬洗淨了，又到污泥中去打滾。”

他們又要逮捕耶穌，他卻從他們的手中逃脫了。

義人雖有許多苦難，但耶和華搭救他脫離這一切。

“有一個污靈離開了一個人，走遍乾旱之地，尋找棲身的地方，卻沒有找到。他就說：‘我要回到我從前離開了的那房子。’到了之後，看見裡面空著，已經打掃乾淨，粉飾好了，他就去帶了另外七個比自己更惡的污靈來，一齊進去住在那裡；那人後來的情況，比以前更壞了。這邪惡的世代也會這樣。”

他救我脫離我的強敵，脫離那些恨我的人，因為他們比我強盛。

“以法蓮啊！我要怎樣待你呢？猶大啊，我要怎樣待你呢？你們的愛心像早晨的雲霧；又像瞬即消逝的朝露。

掃羅聽了約拿單的話，就起誓，說：“我指著永活的耶和華起誓，大衛必不會被殺死。”

我們像雀鳥從捕鳥的人的網羅裡逃脫；網羅破裂，我們就逃脫了。
