Samuel replied,“ If that is the case, then what is this sound of sheep in my ears and the sound of cattle that I hear?”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣，是从哪里来的呢？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣的声音，又是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣的声音，又是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“那么，我现在听见的牛羊叫声是从哪里来的？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫牛鸣的声音，到底是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“那么我耳中这羊叫的声音、我所听见的牛叫声，是怎么回事呢？”

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴，是從哪裏來的呢？」

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴的聲音，又是甚麼呢？」

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴的聲音，又是甚麼呢？」

撒母耳說：「那麼，我現在聽見的牛羊叫聲是從哪裡來的？」

撒母耳說：“我耳中聽見有羊叫牛鳴的聲音，到底是甚麼呢？”

撒母耳說：『那麼傳入我耳中的這羊叫的聲音、和我所聽見牛叫的聲音，都是怎麼回事啊？』

撒母耳說：「那麼我耳中這羊叫的聲音、我所聽見的牛叫聲，是怎麼回事呢？」

撒母耳曰、然則我聞羊鳴牛鳴、是何意耶、

撒母耳曰、羊鳴牛吼、入於我耳、是何故與。

撒母耳曰、若然、則入我耳之羊鳴、我所聞之牛吼、由何至歟、

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ Then why do I hear the baaing of sheep? Why do I hear the mooing of cattle?”

And Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?”

“ Then what is all the bleating of sheep and goats and the lowing of cattle I hear?” Samuel demanded.

Samuel replied,“ Then what is this sound of sheep, goats, and cattle I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the bellowing of the oxen which I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?”

And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

Samuel replied,“ Then what is this sound of sheep and cattle I hear?”

And Samuel said, What[ meaneth] then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

Samuel said,“ Then what does this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the cattle which I hear mean?”

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.

for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin.

God says this to the evildoer:“ How can you declare my commands, and talk about my covenant?For you hate instruction and reject my words.When you see a thief, you join him; you associate with men who are unfaithful to their wives.You do damage with words, and use your tongue to deceive.You plot against your brother; you slander your own brother.When you did these things, I was silent, so you thought I was exactly like you. But now I will condemn you and state my case against you!

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

Even your clothes are stained with the lifeblood of the poor who had not done anything wrong; you did not catch them breaking into your homes. Yet, in spite of all these things you have done,you say,‘ I have not done anything wrong, so the LORD cannot really be angry with me any more.’ But, watch out! I will bring down judgment on you because you say,‘ I have not committed any sin.’Why do you constantly go about changing your political allegiances? You will get no help from Egypt just as you got no help from Assyria.Moreover, you will come away from Egypt with your hands covering your faces in sorrow and shame because the LORD will not allow your reliance on them to be successful and you will not gain any help from them.

What good will it do you then to go down to Egypt to seek help from the Egyptians? What good will it do you to go over to Assyria to seek help from the Assyrians?Your own wickedness will bring about your punishment. Your unfaithful acts will bring down discipline on you. Know, then, and realize how utterly harmful it was for you to reject me, the LORD your God, to show no respect for me,” says the Lord GOD who rules over all.

You can try to wash away your guilt with a strong detergent. You can use as much soap as you want. But the stain of your guilt is still there for me to see,” says the Lord GOD.“ How can you say,‘ I have not made myself unclean. I have not paid allegiance to the gods called Baal.’ Just look at the way you have behaved in the Valley of Hinnom! Think about the things you have done there! You are like a flighty, young female camel that rushes here and there, crisscrossing its path.

“ You have criticized me sharply,” says the LORD,“ but you ask,‘ How have we criticized you?’You have said,‘ It is useless to serve God. How have we been helped by keeping his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD who rules over all?So now we consider the arrogant to be happy; indeed, those who practice evil are successful. In fact, those who challenge God escape!’”

The king said to him,‘ I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! So you knew, did you, that I was a severe man, withdrawing what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow?
