有遊擊兵從非利士營中出來，分為三隊，一隊向俄弗拉的路向、向書亞地進發，

他們便起行，隨有極大的驚慌佈滿了四圍的城市，他們就不追趕雅各的兒子了。

四面的恐怖使他驚惶，隨着他的腳跟追逼着他。

他們震懾恐懼，因為上帝在義人的族類中。

至於你們剩下的人呢、他們在仇敵之地時、我必使怯懦餒弱之氣進他們的心；飄蕩落葉的響聲也會追趕他們；他們必逃跑、像人逃避刀劍；沒有人追趕，他們也跌倒。沒有人追趕、他們也彼此相撞而跌倒，像在刀劍之前；在仇敵面前、你們也站立不住。

王就變了氣色，他的思想使他驚惶；他的腰骨好像脫了節，雙膝直彼此相碰。
