“ What have you done?” asked Samuel. Saul replied,“ When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Mikmash,

but Samuel said,“ What is this you have done?” Saul replied,“ I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle.

and Samuel asked,“ What have you done?” Saul answered,“ When I saw that the troops were deserting me and you didn’t come within the appointed days and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash,

And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and[ that] thou camest not within the days appointed, and[ that] the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;

But Samuel said,“ What have you done?” Saul replied,“ When I saw that the army had started to abandon me and that you didn’t come at the appointed time and that the Philistines had assembled at Micmash,

Samuel said,“ What have you done?” Saul said,“ Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you didn’t come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash;

非利士人聚集起來，要與以色列人交戰，他們有戰車三千（“三千”原文作“三萬”，這裡參考一些《七十士譯本》的文本及敍利亞譯本翻譯）輛、騎兵六千人、步兵像海邊的沙那麼多。他們上來，在伯．亞文東邊的密抹安營。

掃羅和他的兒子約拿單，以及跟隨他們的人都停留在便雅憫的迦巴，非利士人卻在密抹安營。

他從以色列人中為自己揀選了三千人；兩千人和掃羅一同駐在密抹和伯特利山，一千人與約拿單一同駐在便雅憫的基比亞。其餘的人，掃羅都遣散他們各回自己的家去了。

有一隊非利士人的駐軍出到密抹的隘口去。

約押進去見王，說：“你作了甚麼事？押尼珥來見你，你為甚麼把他送走？現在他已經走了。

一個高峰向北，與密抹相對，另一個向南，與迦巴相對。

耶和華說：“你作了甚麼事呢？你弟弟的血有聲音從地裡向我呼叫。

他進去，侍立在他主人面前，以利沙對他說：“基哈西，你從哪裡來？”他說：“你的僕人沒有到過甚麼地方。”

亞述人來到亞葉，經過米磯崙；在密抹存放軍隊行裝。

約書亞對亞干說：“我兒，我勸你把榮耀歸給耶和華以色列的神，向他認罪，告訴我你作了甚麼事，不可向我隱瞞。”

耶和華神對女人說：“你作了甚麼事呢？”女人說：“那蛇欺哄我，我就吃了。”
