今觀爾曹所求所簡之王、耶和華立王治爾、如爾寅畏耶和華、而服事之、聽從其言、不違其命、且與治爾之王、順從爾上帝耶和華、則善矣、如弗聽從耶和華之言、背逆其命、則耶和華之手必敵爾、如昔敵爾祖然、

民不聽撒母耳言、曰、不然、我欲得王治我、

今非刈麥之時乎、我籲耶和華、彼將發雷降雨、令爾明知爾求立王、乃為大惡於耶和華前、

昔爾曰、以王與牧伯賜我、今爾王安在、俾救爾於諸邑、爾之士師安在、我怒以王予爾、亦怒而廢之、
