Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come! Let’s go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.”

Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come, let us go to Gilgal and there renew the kingship.”

Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come on. Let’s go to Gilgal. There we’ll agree again to have Saul as our king.”

Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come, let us go to Gilgal and there renew the kingdom.”

“ Go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you, and show you what you are to do.”

He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.

Samuel said to all the people,“ Do you see him whom Yahweh has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?” All the people shouted, and said,“ Long live the king!”Then Samuel told the people the regulations of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before Yahweh. Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

When the people of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before Yahweh’s ark. They took Dagon and set him in his place again.

All these were men of war, who could order the battle array, and came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had supplied provisions for them.
