Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

“ Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord,“ I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk.But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.

“ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.

Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels.

This great dragon— the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world— was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.”

Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua.

But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.

“ So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.

“ Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware,

The lion has roared— so who isn’t frightened? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— so who can refuse to proclaim his message?

Rather, he must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must love what is good. He must live wisely and be just. He must live a devout and disciplined life.

One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them.“ Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord,“ I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely.

He who gives me justice is near. Who will dare to bring charges against me now? Where are my accusers? Let them appear!

In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self control and be faithful in everything they do.

Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God.

Teach the older men to exercise self control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

“ How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.For you said to yourself,‘ I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.

For someday the people will follow me. I, the Lord, will roar like a lion. And when I roar, my people will return trembling from the west.

The Lord’s voice will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth will shake. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a strong fortress for the people of Israel.

The king’s fury is like a lion’s roar; to rouse his anger is to risk your life.

But women will be saved through childbearing, assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty.

And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.

They will roar like lions, like the strongest of lions. Growling, they will pounce on their victims and carry them off, and no one will be there to rescue them.They will roar over their victims on that day of destruction like the roaring of the sea. If someone looks across the land, only darkness and distress will be seen; even the light will be darkened by clouds.

These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children,

He seized the dragon— that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan— and bound him in chains for a thousand years.

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.

Like a bear whose cubs have been taken away, I will tear out your heart. I will devour you like a hungry lioness and mangle you like a wild animal.

So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.

Then the king gave orders to arrest the men who had maliciously accused Daniel. He had them thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. The lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even hit the floor of the den.

Your princes plot conspiracies just as lions stalk their prey. They devour innocent people, seizing treasures and extorting wealth. They make many widows in the land.

Does a lion ever roar in a thicket without first finding a victim? Does a young lion growl in its den without first catching its prey?

But what if the servant thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful.

“ Then the King will turn to those on the left and say,‘ Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.

As Samson and his parents were going down to Timnah, a young lion suddenly attacked Samson near the vineyards of Timnah.

He demolished fortresses and destroyed their towns and cities. Their farms were desolated, and their crops were destroyed. The land and its people trembled in fear when they heard him roar.

But what if the servant is evil and thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected,

Esther replied,“ This wicked Haman is our adversary and our enemy.” Haman grew pale with fright before the king and queen.

Her people will roar together like strong lions. They will growl like lion cubs.

Listen to the wailing of the shepherds, for their rich pastures are destroyed. Hear the young lions roaring, for their thickets in the Jordan Valley are ruined.

Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.

Strong lions have roared against him, and the land has been destroyed. The towns are now in ruins, and no one lives in them anymore.

This is what he saw and heard:“ The Lord’s voice will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem! The lush pastures of the shepherds will dry up; the grass on Mount Carmel will wither and die.”

The king’s anger is like a lion’s roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

They say,“ Get an evil person to turn against him. Send an accuser to bring him to trial.
