But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.

然宗基督而受害、初無愧怍、又當歸榮上帝、

若緣為基督徒而受苦、則勿羞愧、當因此歸榮於天主、

若為服膺基督之教而受苦、則非惟不可引以為辱、且當以此名義、歸榮於天主也。

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

Agrippa said to Paul,“ With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?”

“ Don’t be afraid, for you will not be ashamed. Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed. For you will forget the shame of your youth. You will remember the reproach of your widowhood no more.

For the Lord Yahweh will help me. Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I won’t be disappointed.

through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.
