But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear such a name.

若為服膺基督之教而受苦、則非惟不可引以為辱、且當以此名義、歸榮於天主也。

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.

Agrippa said to Paul,“ In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?”

But the sovereign LORD helps me, so I am not humiliated. For that reason I am steadfastly resolved; I know I will not be put to shame.

through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,and endurance, character, and character, hope.And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.
