But if anyone suffers as a“ Christian,” he should not be ashamed but should glorify God in having that name.

然宗基督而受害、初無愧怍、又當歸榮上帝、

若緣為基督徒而受苦、則勿羞愧、當因此歸榮於天主、

若為服膺基督之教而受苦、則非惟不可引以為辱、且當以此名義、歸榮於天主也。

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials,knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name.

So those who suffer according to God’s will should, while doing what is good, entrust themselves to a faithful Creator.

and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.

So then I ask you not to be discouraged over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory.For this reason I kneel before the Fatherfrom whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.

My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

Therefore, in the east honor the Lord! In the islands of the west honor the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

Then Agrippa said to Paul,“ Are you going to persuade me to become a Christian so easily?”

“ Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; don’t be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.

The Lord God will help Me; therefore I have not been humiliated; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.

We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.
