But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name.

若緣為基督徒而受苦、則勿羞愧、當因此歸榮於天主、

若為服膺基督之教而受苦、則非惟不可引以為辱、且當以此名義、歸榮於天主也。

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.

So then, let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator while doing what is good.

My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

Therefore, in the east honor the LORD! In the coasts and islands of the west honor the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Agrippa said to Paul,“ Are you going to persuade me to become a Christian so easily?”

“ Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; don’t be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.

The Lord GOD will help me; therefore I have not been humiliated; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.

We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.
