like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.

Sarah was like that. She obeyed Abraham. She called him her master. Do you want to be like her? Then do what is right. And don’t give in to fear.

Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.But he denied before[ them] all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.And when he was gone out into the porch, another[ maid] saw him, and said unto them that were there, This[ fellow] was also with Jesus of Nazareth.And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.And after a while came unto[ him] they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art[ one] of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.Then began he to curse and to swear,[ saying], I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham,[ are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these[ are] not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.For this[ is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid[ it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead,[ even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole.This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy[ are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and[ be] ready always to[ give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.But he[ who was] of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman[ was] by promise.Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
