在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。

老婦所為、亦當合乎聖虔、勿讒毀、勿嗜酒、以善教人、使少婦愛夫愛子、

孑遺無依之寡婦、惟天主是賴、晝夜恆於祈禱、

因見爾之舉動、貞潔敬恪故也、勿以編髮、戴金、衣美服、外飾為飾、惟以藏於心不可壞之善德、即溫和恬靜之性為飾、此在天主前為寶也、

美容屬偽、豔色屬虛、惟敬畏主之女、始得讚譽、
