By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

When the LORD saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time,

and if he didn’t spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when he brought the flood on the world of the ungodly;

So Noah, along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, came out.

The flood continued for forty days on the earth; the water increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth.The water surged and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.Then the water surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered.The mountains were covered as the water surged above them more than twenty feet.Every creature perished— those that crawl on the earth, birds, livestock, wildlife, and those that swarm on the earth, as well as all mankind.Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils— everything on dry land died.He wiped out every living thing that was on the face of the earth, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.

“ Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because I tell you, many will try to enter and won’t be ableonce the homeowner gets up and shuts the door. Then you will stand outside and knock on the door, saying,‘ Lord, open up for us!’ He will answer you,‘ I don’t know you or where you’re from.’

Then God said to Noah,“ I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth.“ Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. You are to put a door in the side of the ark. Make it with lower, middle, and upper decks.“ Understand that I am bringing a flood— floodwaters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives.You are also to bring into the ark two of all the living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.Two of everything— from the birds according to their kinds, from the livestock according to their kinds, and from the animals that crawl on the ground according to their kinds— will come to you so that you can keep them alive.Take with you every kind of food that is eaten; gather it as food for you and for them.”And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.Then the LORD said to Noah,“ Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female,and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky— in order to keep offspring alive throughout the earth.Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing I have made I will wipe off the face of the earth.”And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came and water covered the earth.So Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives entered the ark because of the floodwaters.

How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.

And what if God, wanting to display his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?

On that same day Noah and his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, entered the ark, along with Noah’s wife and his three sons’ wives.

Therefore the LORD is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. All who wait patiently for him are happy.

“ Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:People went on eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: People went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building.But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark.They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. This is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be.

Also, regard the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our dear brother Paul has written to you according to the wisdom given to him.

God remembered Noah, as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water began to subside.

Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.

For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. Who is adequate for these things?
