且爾之使命正在此中。蓋基督亦曾為爾茹苦、垂爾楷式、俾爾踵效。

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

You were chosen to do good even if you suffer. That’s because Christ suffered for you. He left you an example that he expects you to follow.

and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters;

Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.

and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.

not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.

Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

“ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to come into His glory?”

for I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.”

And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead, and saying,“ This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.”
