In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Because you know all this, you have great joy. You have joy even though you may have had to suffer for a little while. You may have had to suffer sadness in all kinds of trouble.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless.And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.

Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying,“ We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.

And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,whom having not seen you love. Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation,

And Hannah prayed and said:“ My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;‘ For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.

And He said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Are they ministers of Christ?— I speak as a fool— I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies.For He does not afflict willingly, Nor grieve the children of men.

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

That I may tell of all Your praise In the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation.

And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

All my bones shall say,“ Lord, who is like You, Delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, Yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?”

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

Then the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart.
