It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

It was made known to the prophets that they were not serving themselves. Instead, they were serving you when they spoke about the things that you have now heard. Those who have preached the good news to you have told you these things. They have done it with the help of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.

予當自聖父遣發保慰恩師於爾、保慰恩師非他、即真道之神發自聖父者是。彼至必為予作證、

不惟世人、即天上之爵權諸品天神、亦有賴於教會、始得窺見天主神妙不測之智慧，

凡此何一非因信德而見稱者乎？顧其未獲所許者何也？蓋天主夙為吾人備有更微妙之事、而古人之成全、實有待乎吾人者焉。

於是乃囑之曰：『爾曹當徧歷寰宇、宣福音於普天生靈。

聖道獨無涯。』

蓋慈音之達於我輩、宛如昔日達於先人。顧先人聞之、而未獲其益者、以其未能用信德融洽其所聞之道、而身體之耳。

且天主更按聖意、疊用異兆靈異、廣施聖蹟、及聖神之妙果、為之證明；不亦信而有徵乎？

按其所悅樂之時、惠然以其聖子啟示吾心、令我傳道於外邦。吾即當機立斷、不屑謀之於血氣肉情、

時見群神、繞寶座及靈物諸老而環立、其數千千萬萬、

惟吾人則知之、因天主恆以聖神啟迪吾衷也。聖神洞徹萬事、即天主之堂奧亦無所不窺。

蓋吾既未受之於人、又非學而知之、惟憑耶穌基督之啟示而已。

而以聖神充吾人之心以為質者、則天主也。

「上主云、時臨末日、將以吾神賜諸蒼生；爾子爾女、將作預言、少者睹異徵、老者獲奇夢。屆時當以吾神沛賜吾之僕婢、使道未來。

具徵吾儕之授爾以福音、不僅以言、且以神力與聖神、實事求是、廓然不疑。吾儕向在爾中服務、爾等固知其為何如人也。而爾等不計危難、毅然服膺聖道、且受聖神之靈感、而怡然自樂；是則爾等不惟以吾儕為則、直以主為法矣。

兄弟當猶憶吾儕傳授天主福音時之如何艱辛困苦、躬自操作、夙夜不遑、以免加爾之累。

吾父已將一切付諸於我矣。知子惟父、知父惟子、及蒙子啟牖之人。

諸徒出、徧歷鄉村、傳布福音、隨處施醫。

貞潔也、好學也、克己也、溫和也、聖神之靈感也、篤實之愛德也、

耶穌曰：『福哉若納子西門：蓋以此啟汝者、非屬血氣肉情；在天吾父、實牖爾衷。

迨天主以右手舉而升之、渠乃受所許之聖神、遂以此神傾注於吾人、是即爾曹所親睹親聞者也。

爾時耶穌又言曰：『頌揚聖父、天地真主！蓋爾隱此道於智巧之人、而啟之於赤子；

嘗蒙默啟、生前必得親睹上主之基督。

實以相告、予之去、爾之益也。蓋予不去、則保慰恩師不至。予去當遣之來。彼既來、必有以令世知罪、知義、知判。知罪者、以若輩不予信也；知義者、以予歸父而爾不復睹予也；知判者、以斯世之君已受判也。尚有多端、欲與爾言、惟此時爾尚不堪受之。一俟真諦之神來臨、必能循循誘爾洞達微妙。彼所言亦非由己；有所聞、乃言之；當示爾以將臨之事、且必歸榮於予也。何則、彼將受之於予、而授之於爾也。蓋父之所有、亦即予之所有、故曰：『彼將受於予而授於爾。』

故予語爾、上主之天神、見一罪人回頭、其歡忻雀躍、亦復如是。』

忽有聲來自天上、若大風之驟至、充乎全室；復見火光𦧡𦧡如舌、分降人頂；眾遂飽受聖神、各依聖神所賦、而道異國方言。

蓋天主之正義、已藉福音而啟示矣。此正義乃肇於信德、而成於信德者也。經曰：『惟義者憑信德而生、』此之謂也。

惟假吾之手而已。或以言語、或以行為、或以聖蹟、異能、何一非聖神之妙工乎？吾傳基督福音、足跡已遍耶路撒冷及其周圍之地、直達伊利利亞。

苟非奉遣、誰得傳之。經云：『美哉傳報嘉訊者之足音也！』

此數人者、皆懷抱信德而死、生前未見恩諾之通盤實現、惟高瞻遠矚、延頸舉踵企而迎之。同時復自認人生在世、猶如羇旅他鄉、暫作過客而已。

禱畢、大地震動、眾感聖神、無不昌言天主之道焉。

宗徒既證主道而闡揚之、乃返耶路撒冷、道經沙瑪里諸村、隨在宣揚福音。

伯鐸祿言未竟、聖神降臨聽道之人。

伯鐸祿既感聖神、對曰：

故為爾等羅馬同人、闡述福音、亦為當務之急。

葆樂既見異象、乃知天主命吾儕傳福音於馬其頓、吾儕遂急圖一往。
