They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.

“ When the Counselor comes, the one I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father— he will testify about me.

This is so that God’s multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.

All these were approved through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised,since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.

Then he said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

He said,“ Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret and sealed until the time of the end.

but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this word is the gospel that was proclaimed to you.

For we also have received the good news just as they did. But the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith.

At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to his will.

But as for you, go on your way to the end; you will rest, and then you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance at the end of the days.”

to reveal his Son in me, so that I could preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone.

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands.

Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

For I did not receive it from a human source and I was not taught it, but it came by a revelation of Jesus Christ.

He has also put his seal on us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.

And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.I will even pour out my Spirit on my servants in those days, both men and women and they will prophesy.

The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision at night, and Daniel praised the God of the heavens

because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with full assurance. You know how we lived among you for your benefit,and you yourselves became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message with joy from the Holy Spirit.

For you remember our labor and hardship, brothers and sisters. Working night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.

All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

So they went out and traveled from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing everywhere.

until the Spirit from on high is poured out on us. Then the desert will become an orchard, and the orchard will seem like a forest.

He reveals the deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with him.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your offspring.They will sprout among the grass like poplars by flowing streams.This one will say,‘ I am the LORD’s’; another will use the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand,‘ The LORD’s,’ and take on the name of Israel.”

by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,

“ Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the house of David and the residents of Jerusalem, and they will look at me whom they pierced. They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and weep bitterly for him as one weeps for a firstborn.

Jesus responded,“ Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.

In the third year of King Cyrus of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar. The message was true and was about a great conflict. He understood the message and had understanding of the vision.

Therefore, since he has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he has poured out what you both see and hear.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.

It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he saw the Lord’s Messiah.

The cherubim are to have wings spread out above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and are to face one another. The faces of the cherubim should be toward the mercy seat.

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment:About sin, because they do not believe in me;about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me;and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.“ I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that he takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.

I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, he will not execute justice by what he hears with his ears,but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a scepter from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command from his lips.Righteousness will be a belt around his hips; faithfulness will be a belt around his waist.The wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat. The calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf will be together, and a child will lead them.

Indeed, the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his counsel to his servants the prophets.

Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying.They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and rested on each one of them.Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them.

If you respond to my warning, then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.

The king said to Daniel,“ Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, since you were able to reveal this mystery.”

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.

by the power of miraculous signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit. As a result, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.

But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has let King Nebuchadnezzar know what will happen in the last days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay in bed were these:Your Majesty, while you were in your bed, thoughts came to your mind about what will happen in the future. The revealer of mysteries has let you know what will happen.

And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the speaker,“ How long will the events of this vision last— the regular sacrifice, the rebellion that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and of the army to be trampled?”

Then I, Daniel, looked, and two others were standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the other.One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the water of the river,“ How long until the end of these wondrous things?”

These all died in faith, although they had not received the things that were promised. But they saw them from a distance, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth.

When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly.

So, after they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they traveled back to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message.

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

Then Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and said to them,“ Rulers of the people and elders:

After this I will pour out my Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.

So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city— to bring the rebellion to an end, to put a stop to sin, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

After he had seen the vision, we immediately made efforts to set out for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
