Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him,[ there is] no beauty that we should desire him.He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were[ our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.But he[ was] wounded for our transgressions,[ he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace[ was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither[ was any] deceit in his mouth.Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put[ him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see[ his] seed, he shall prolong[ his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.He shall see of the travail of his soul,[ and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.Therefore will I divide him[ a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.Know therefore and understand,[ that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince[ shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof[ shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.[ This] also shall please the LORD better than an ox[ or] bullock that hath horns and hoofs.The humble shall see[ this, and] be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?[ why art thou so] far from helping me,[ and from] the words of my roaring?O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.But thou[ art] holy,[ O thou] that inhabitest the praises of Israel.Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.But I[ am] a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head,[ saying],He trusted on the LORD[ that] he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.But thou[ art] he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope[ when I was] upon my mother’s breasts.I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou[ art] my God from my mother’s belly.Be not far from me; for trouble[ is] near; for[ there is] none to help.Many bulls have compassed me: strong[ bulls] of Bashan have beset me round.They gaped upon me[ with] their mouths,[ as] a ravening and a roaring lion.I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.I may tell all my bones: they look[ and] stare upon me.They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.My praise[ shall be] of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.For the kingdom[ is] the LORD’S: and he[ is] the governor among the nations.All[ they that be] fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done[ this].

And he said unto them, These[ are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and[ in] the prophets, and[ in] the psalms, concerning me.

And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying,Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth[ month], and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.Thus saith the LORD of hosts;[ It shall] yet[ come to pass], that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:And the inhabitants of one[ city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day[ and] night before thee:Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man[ that hath] no strength:Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted[ me] with all thy waves. Selah.Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them:[ I am] shut up, and I cannot come forth.Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise[ and] praise thee? Selah.Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave?[ or] thy faithfulness in destruction?Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.LORD, why castest thou off my soul?[ why] hidest thou thy face from me?I[ am] afflicted and ready to die from[ my] youth up:[ while] I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.Lover and friend hast thou put far from me,[ and] mine acquaintance into darkness.

I saw in the night visions, and, behold,[ one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion[ is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom[ that] which shall not be destroyed.

These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man[ that is] my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto[ my] soul.I sink in deep mire, where[ there is] no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me,[ being] mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored[ that] which I took not away.O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.When I wept,[ and chastened] my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I[ was] the song of the drunkards.But as for me, my prayer[ is] unto thee, O LORD,[ in] an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness[ is] good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.Draw nigh unto my soul,[ and] redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries[ are] all before thee.Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked[ for some] to take pity, but[ there was] none; and for comforters, but I found none.They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet[ that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:That Christ should suffer,[ and] that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See[ thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.Thy people[ shall be] willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou[ art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill[ the places] with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people,[ but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
