『你人民因犯罪得罪了你，天便被制住而沒有雨水；你這樣懲罰他們，他們若向這聖地禱告，稱讚你的名，離開他們的罪而回轉過來，

如民獲罪於主、致天閉塞不雨、而在此處祈禱、認主之名、主罰之之後、悛悔罪惡、

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them,

“ Suppose your people have sinned against you. And because of that, the sky is closed up and there isn’t any rain. But your people pray toward this place. They praise you by admitting they’ve sinned. And they turn away from their sin because you have made them suffer.

“ When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and acknowledge your name and turn from their sin, when you afflict them,

“ If the skies are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and if they pray toward this Temple and acknowledge your name and turn from their sins because you have punished them,

“ The time will come when the skies are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, and turn away from their sin because you punish them,

『你人民以色列若犯罪得罪了你，在仇敵面前被擊敗，又回轉過來歸向你，稱讚你的名，在這殿裏向你禱告懇求，

以致永恆主向你們發怒，就把天抑制着，使天沒有雨水，田地生不出土產，你們就會從永恆主所賜給你們的美地上迅速地滅亡。

我必挫折你們的勢力所驕矜的；使你們的天像鐵、你們的地像銅；

於是迦得來見大衛，通知他，問他說：『你願意你這地有三年饑荒呢？還是你在敵人面前逃跑、而他追趕着你三個月呢？抑或在你這地有三天的瘟疫呢？現在你要思想、要看清楚我該用甚麼話去回覆那差遣我的。』

我憑事實告訴你們，當以利亞的日子、以色列中有許多寡婦；那時天閉塞了三年零六個月，遍地大饑荒；

這兩個人有權柄把天閉塞着，叫雨水在他們傳講神言的日子不下來；又有權柄掌管眾水、叫水變成了血；他們並且能用各樣災殃、按所要的次數擊打大地。

『所以主永恆主發神諭說：以色列家啊，我要判罰你們，各照各人所行的。回轉吧！轉離你們一切的罪過吧！免得罪過成了你們陷於罪罰中的因由。你們將所犯得罪了我的一切罪過盡行拋棄吧！為自己作成個新的心新的靈吧！何必死亡呢，以色列家啊？因為連垂死之人之死亡我也不喜歡呢：這是主永恆主發神諭說的：所以你們要回轉以得活着。』

也要使外國人因上帝的憐憫來榮耀上帝，如經上所記：『故此我要在外國中頌揚你，歌頌你的名。』

基列的提斯比有一位提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：『我指着以色列的上帝、我侍立在他面前永活的永恆主來起誓；這幾年除非憑我說話，天必不降露或下雨。』

願你的眼睜開着、晝夜看顧這殿，看顧你所說你的名要臨在的聖地；願你聽你僕人向這聖地所發的禱告。求你聽你僕人和你人民以色列的懇求，就是他們向這聖地所禱告的；求你在天上、你居住之所在垂聽，垂聽而赦免。

你們伸開雙手來禱告，我必掩目不看你們；就使你們多多禱告，我也不聽；你們的手都滿了血，你們的指頭滿了罪孽。你們要洗澡、使自己純潔；從我眼前除掉你們行為之敗壞；要止住作惡，

祭司啊，腰束麻布而慟哭吧！伺候祭壇的啊，哀號哦！伺候我的上帝的啊，披着麻布進殿去過夜吧！因為素祭和奠祭都從你們的上帝殿中停止了。要行聖禮擬定禁食，宣告聖節會哦；要聚集眾長老、國中一切居民到你們的上帝永恆主的殿，向永恆主哀呼哦。有禍啊那日！因為永恆主的日子臨近了，就像毁滅出於毁滅者。糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了麼？歡喜快樂不是從我們的上帝殿中止息了麼？穀種在耙子底下都萎縮了；倉房淒涼，廩室翻毁，因為五穀令人失望了。牲口哀鳴着，牛羣滿處亂竄，因為找不到草場；羊羣也餓得發獃。永恆主啊，我是向你呼求的；因為有火燒滅了野地的草場，有火燄燒盡了田野的樹木。連田野的走獸也向你發喘；因為有水的溪河都乾涸了，有火燒滅了野地的草場。

這人民還沒有回轉來歸向那擊打他們、的主，還沒有尋求萬軍之永恆主。

以色列啊，你要回歸永恆主你的上帝，因為你是因你自己的罪孽而傾覆的。

『人子啊，若有一國行為不忠實，犯罪得罪了我，而我伸手攻擊它，折斷它糧食的支杖，使饑荒臨到那地，將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉，

你頭上的天必變為銅，你腳下的地必變為鐵。永恆主必將飛塵沙土代替你地上所需要的雨水；塵土必從天上下到你身上，直到你消滅。

你若口裏承認耶穌為主，心裏相信上帝曾叫他從死人中活了起來，就必得救：

永恆主必為你開他的寶庫，為你開天，按時節把你地上所需要的雨水賜下來，賜福與你手裏作的一切事；你必借給許多國的人，卻不必向人借貸。

以下是永恆主的話、那傳與耶利米、論到荒災之事的：『猶大悲哀，她的城門衰敗，人都披上黑衣坐在地上哀悼；耶路撒冷的哀號聲直往上升。他們的貴顯人打發家僮去打水；家僮來到沼池邊，見沒有水，就空着器皿回來，失望狼狽，抱頭無言。耕種土地的驚慌失措，因為沒有霖雨在地上；耕地的人都失望，抱頭蒙羞。連田野間的母鹿也剛生產就撇棄，因為沒有青草。野驢站在無草木的高處上，好像野狗在喘氣；他們的眼都失明，因為沒有草喫。『我們的罪孽雖作證告我們，永恆主啊，為你名的緣故行事吧！雖則我們多次轉離正道，犯罪得罪了你。

你們將當納的十分之一全部送入倉庫，使我殿中有糧吧！並這樣試試我、萬軍之永恆主說，看我會不會給你們敞開天閘，將祝福給你們傾倒下來，直到有餘無缺。

『你人民以色列若犯罪得罪了你，在仇敵面前被擊敗，又回轉過來、稱讚你的名，在這殿裏、在你面前禱告懇求，

在錫安吹號角哦！要行聖禮擬定禁食，宣告聖節會哦；要聚集人民，使大眾潔淨自己為聖；要招聚老年人，聚集孩童，以及在母懷嗍奶的；要叫新郎出洞房，叫新婦離開內室。伺候永恆主的祭司須要在廊子和祭壇之間哭泣，說：『永恆主啊，顧惜你人民哦！不要讓你的產業被羞辱，而在列國中令人談笑哦。為甚麼容人在列族之民中譏刺說：「他們的上帝在哪裏呢？」』
