如人獲罪於爾、使天閉塞、雨澤不降、至殿祈禱、呼籲爾名、緣遘患難、去厥罪愆、

如民獲罪於主、致天閉塞不雨、而在此處祈禱、認主之名、主罰之之後、悛悔罪惡、

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them,

“ Suppose your people have sinned against you. And because of that, the sky is closed up and there isn’t any rain. But your people pray toward this place. They praise you by admitting they’ve sinned. And they turn away from their sin because you have made them suffer.

「你的民以色列若得罪你，敗在仇敵面前，又歸向你，承認你的名，在這殿裏祈求禱告，

耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就使天閉塞不下雨，地也不出產，使你們在耶和華所賜給你們的美地上速速滅亡。

我必斷絕你們因勢力而有的驕傲，又要使覆你們的天如鐵，載你們的地如銅。

於是迦得來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國中有七年的饑荒呢？是在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？是在你國中有三日的瘟疫呢？現在你要揣摩思想，我好回覆那差我來的。」

我對你們說實話，當以利亞的時候，天閉塞了三年零六個月，遍地有大饑荒，那時，以色列中有許多寡婦，

這二人有權柄，在他們傳道的日子叫天閉塞不下雨；又有權柄叫水變為血，並且能隨時隨意用各樣的災殃攻擊世界。

所以主耶和華說：「以色列家啊，我必按你們各人所行的審判你們。你們當回頭離開所犯的一切罪過。這樣，罪孽必不使你們敗亡。你們要將所犯的一切罪過盡行拋棄，自做一個新心和新靈。以色列家啊，你們何必死亡呢？主耶和華說：我不喜悅那死人之死，所以你們當回頭而存活。」

並叫外邦人因他的憐憫榮耀神。如經上所記：因此，我要在外邦中稱讚你，歌頌你的名；

基列寄居的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指着所事奉永生耶和華－以色列的神起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露，不下雨。」

願你晝夜看顧這殿，就是你應許立為你名的居所；求你垂聽僕人向此處禱告的話。你僕人和你民以色列向此處祈禱的時候，求你在天上你的居所垂聽，垂聽而赦免。

你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看；就是你們多多地祈禱，我也不聽。你們的手都滿了殺人的血。你們要洗濯、自潔，從我眼前除掉你們的惡行，要止住作惡，

祭司啊，你們當腰束麻布痛哭；伺候祭壇的啊，你們要哀號；事奉我神的啊，你們要來披上麻布過夜，因為素祭和奠祭從你們神的殿中斷絕了。你們要分定禁食的日子，宣告嚴肅會，招聚長老和國中的一切居民到耶和華－你們神的殿，向耶和華哀求。哀哉！耶和華的日子臨近了。這日來到，好像毀滅從全能者來到。糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了嗎？歡喜快樂不是從我們神的殿中止息了嗎？穀種在土塊下朽爛；倉也荒涼，廩也破壞；因為五穀枯乾了。牲畜哀鳴；牛羣混亂，因為無草；羊羣也受了困苦。耶和華啊，我向你求告，因為火燒滅曠野的草場；火焰燒盡田野的樹木。田野的走獸向你發喘；因為溪水乾涸，火也燒滅曠野的草場。

這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的神；你是因自己的罪孽跌倒了。

「人子啊，若有一國犯罪干犯我，我也向他伸手折斷他們的杖，就是斷絕他們的糧，使饑荒臨到那地，將人與牲畜從其中剪除；

你頭上的天要變為銅，腳下的地要變為鐵。耶和華要使那降在你地上的雨變為塵沙，從天臨在你身上，直到你滅亡。

你若口裏認耶穌為主，心裏信神叫他從死裏復活，就必得救。

耶和華必為你開天上的府庫，按時降雨在你的地上。在你手裏所辦的一切事上賜福與你。你必借給許多國民，卻不致向他們借貸。

耶和華論到乾旱之災的話臨到耶利米：猶大悲哀，城門衰敗。眾人披上黑衣坐在地上；耶路撒冷的哀聲上達。他們的貴冑打發家僮打水；他們來到水池，見沒有水，就拿着空器皿，蒙羞慚愧，抱頭而回。耕地的也蒙羞抱頭；因為無雨降在地上，地都乾裂。田野的母鹿生下小鹿，就撇棄，因為無草。野驢站在淨光的高處，喘氣好像野狗；因為無草，眼目失明。耶和華啊，我們的罪孽雖然作見證告我們，還求你為你名的緣故行事。我們本是多次背道，得罪了你。

萬軍之耶和華說：你們要將當納的十分之一全然送入倉庫，使我家有糧，以此試試我，是否為你們敞開天上的窗戶，傾福與你們，甚至無處可容。

「你的民以色列若得罪你，敗在仇敵面前，又回心轉意承認你的名，在這殿裏向你祈求禱告，

你們要在錫安吹角，分定禁食的日子，宣告嚴肅會。聚集眾民，使會眾自潔：招聚老者，聚集孩童和吃奶的；使新郎出離洞房，新婦出離內室。事奉耶和華的祭司要在廊子和祭壇中間哭泣，說：耶和華啊，求你顧惜你的百姓，不要使你的產業受羞辱，列邦管轄他們。為何容列國的人說：「他們的神在哪裏」呢？
