Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David.

Then King Solomon sent for the elders of Israel. He told them to come to him in Jerusalem. They included all the leaders of the tribes. They also included the chiefs of the families of Israel. Solomon wanted them to bring up the ark of the Lord’ s covenant from Zion. Zion was the City of David.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ houses of the people of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Solomon then summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes— the leaders of the ancestral families of the Israelites. They were to bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant to the Temple from its location in the City of David, also known as Zion.

At that time Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, all the tribal heads and the ancestral leaders of the Israelites before him at Jerusalem in order to bring the ark of the LORD’s covenant from the city of David, that is Zion.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the city of David, that is, Zion.

Then Solomon convened in Jerusalem Israel’s elders, all the leaders of the Israelite tribes and families, so they could witness the transferal of the ark of the LORD’s covenant from the city of David( that is, Zion).

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, with all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

所羅門召以色列長老、族長、族中最著者、至耶路撒冷、欲舁耶和華法匱、自大闢城而來、即郇邑也。時值七月節期、以色列眾、咸至王前、以色列長老既至利未人舁法匱。祭司利未人舁法匱、及會幕、幕中聖器。所羅門王、偕以色列族、集於法匱前、獻牛羊為祭、不可勝數。祭司舁耶和華約匱入後殿、至聖之所、在𠼻𡀔［口氷］翮下。𠼻𡀔［口氷］在法匱所、展其雙翮、覆蓋法匱、並及其杠。其杠甚長、在前殿猶得見其末、惟殿外不得見之、迄今亦若是。法匱中惟藏二碑、昔以色列族出埃及至何烈山、耶和華與之立約、摩西置碑於匱。

大闢及以色列族長老、暨千夫長、自阿伯以東家、懽然欣忭、舁耶和華法匱、

或告大闢王曰、緣上帝之匱、耶和華錫嘏於阿別以東、暨凡所有。於是大闢往迎上帝之匱、於阿別以東家、歡然舁至大闢邑中。舁耶和華匱之人、行才六步、大闢獻牛與肥畜為祭。大闢衣枲公服、舞蹈於耶和華前、竭力以為。大闢及以色列族眾、歡呼吹角、舁耶和華之匱以至。耶和華之匱入大闢邑時、掃羅女米甲、自牖而窺、見大闢王、踴躍舞蹈於耶和華前、中心藐視之。人舁耶和華之匱、置於其所、在大闢所張之幕、大闢獻燔祭、及酬恩祭、奉事耶和華。

所羅門既寤、知涉於夢寐、遂至耶路撒冷、立耶和華法匱前、獻燔祭酬恩祭、賜宴與僕從、

希西家召以色列猶大二族、復致書以法蓮馬拿西二支派、使至耶路撒冷、詣耶和華殿守逾越節、奉事以色列族之上帝耶和華。

耶和華曰、屋隅要石、我所推選、我所器重、置於郇城、為鞏固之基、使信之者、無戒心、

予欲救郇邑、俾以色列族群被尊榮、以彰仁義、速藏其事、不復濡滯。

大闢扼居險要、邑名大闢。

召以色列眾長老、牧伯、刑官族長、告之曰、我壽高年邁。

大闢召以色列族眾、至耶路撒冷、舁耶和華匱、至所備之所。

異邦之民、咸來和會、崇事耶和華、斯時也、在彼郇邑、揄揚其名、在耶路撒冷、頌美靡已兮。

約書亞集以色列各支派至示劍、召諸長老、牧伯、刑官、族長、咸至上帝前。

七月將屆、以色列族、自諸邑至耶路撒冷、咸集惟一心。

耶和華居郇邑、宜謳歌之、而於民間、揄揚其經綸兮。

大闢取郇險要之所、更其邑名、以己名稱之。時大闢曰、凡入暗竇、擊耶布士人、及我所惡之跛者瞽者、則可為軍長、蓋敵有言跛者瞽者尚存、則不得入室。大闢扼居險要、稱大闢之邑、四周築垣、在米羅之內。

大闢與諸千夫長、百夫長、武士長會議、告以色列族會眾、曰、如蒙我上帝耶和華祐、俾爾樂為、則遣人召以色列族地未至之同宗、及諸邑之祭司、利未人、群集於此、使攜我上帝法匱、蓋掃羅存日我儕不至匱所、以決疑。會眾然其言、無不欲行、大闢自埃及之西曷、至哈抹之道、招集以色列族、欲舁上帝之匱、自基列耶林而至。

前所核數以色列之牧伯、族長族中最著者、群獻禮物、攜至耶和華前、以蒙幭之車六、牛十有二、每二牧伯獻一車、每一牧伯獻一牛、牽至會幕前。

大闢又簡於以色列族、得軍三萬。率眾往猶大之巴勒、欲舁上帝之匱至、匱前民籲居𠼻𡀔［口氷］間萬有之主耶和華。

耶和華法匱入大闢邑時、掃羅女米甲自牖而窺、見大闢王踴躍、中心藐視之。眾舁上帝匱、置大闢所張之幕、獻燔祭及酬恩祭於上帝前、

經云、屋隅要石、為我所推選所器重、置於郇城、使信者無愧怍、

大闢召以色列群臣、族長、及月從王諸班列之軍士長、與千夫長、百夫長、宦豎、豪傑壯士、掌王及王子之所有者、俱至耶路撒冷。

至拿干穀場、舁匱之牛桀驁不馴、烏撒僭扶上帝之匱。
