告訴他說：「萬軍之永恆主這樣說道：『看吧，有一個人、他名稱為「樹苗」，他必在他自己的地方長起來，建成永恆主的殿堂。是所羅巴伯要建成永恆主的殿堂；是約書亞要擔當祭司的尊榮，是所羅巴伯要坐在寶座上執政；是約書亞也要在寶座上；他們二人之間必有和諧合作的計畫。』」

耶穌回答他們說：『你們毁壞這殿堂，我三天以內必使它復起。』於是猶太人說：『這殿堂乃四十六年才建造成的，你三天以內就要使它復起？』其實耶穌卻是指着他身體之殿堂說的。

因為他期待着那有根基的城，就是上帝做其設計者和建造者的。

求你將純全的心賜給我兒子所羅門，來遵守你的命令、法度、律例，來成就這一切：用我所豫備的來建造殿宇。』

豈不知你們的身體就是聖靈的殿堂麼？聖靈是那在你們裏面的、是你們從上帝那裏得來的。你們又不是屬於自己的；

以色列人出埃及地以後，第二年二月一日、永恆主在西乃的曠野、在會棚中告訴摩西說：

被建造在使徒和神言傳講師的根基上，基督耶穌自己就是房角石。靠着他、各部建築都互相聯接，漸漸高大，成為在主裏的聖殿堂。靠着他、你們也一同被建造、成為上帝以靈居住的所在。

『散於遠方的人也要來，參加建成永恆主殿堂的工程；你們就知道是萬軍之永恆主差遣了我到你們這裏來的。你們若注意聽從永恆主你們的上帝的聲音，這事就必成就。』

在他裏面扎了根，而建造起來，在你們所受教的信仰上堅固，有滿溢的感謝心。

但基督來到了、做一位已實現的美事之大祭司、卻通過那較大較完全的帳幕、不是人手造的、就是說、不屬於這被創造之世的、進入天上的聖所，

上帝的殿堂同偶像怎能符合呢？我們呢、就是永活上帝的殿堂。正如上帝所說的：『我要在他們裏面居住；我要在他們中間往來；我要做他們的上帝；他們必做我的子民。』
