對他說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，那名字稱為「苗裔」的人，必從自己的地方長出，並要建造耶和華的聖殿；是他要建造耶和華的聖殿，並要束上尊榮，坐在寶座上掌權，也在寶座上作祭司；兩職之間必有和平的謀略。

耶穌回答說：「你們把這聖所毀了吧！三天內我要把它建起來。」那些猶太人說：「這聖所建了四十六年，而你能在三天內把它建起來嗎？」其實耶穌所說的聖所，就是指他自己的身體。

因為他等待著那座有根基的城；那城是神所設計、所建造的。

難道你們不知道，你們的身體就是聖靈的聖所嗎？這聖靈住在你們裡面，是你們從神領受的。你們不屬於自己，

並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶穌自己為房角石。在基督耶穌裡，全部建築互相連接，漸漸成為在主裡的聖殿；在他裡面，你們也一同被建造，藉著聖靈成為神居住的地方。

遠方的人也要來建造耶和華的聖殿。』」這樣你們就知道：萬軍之耶和華派遣了我到你們這裡。你們如果留心聽耶和華你們神的聲音，這事就必成就。

照著你們所受的教導，在他裡面得以扎根、建造，在信仰上得以確立，在感謝中豐足有餘。

不過基督已經來到，做了那些已經發生的美善之事的大祭司，經過了那更大、更完美的會幕。那會幕不是人手所造的；就是說，不屬於這被造的世界。

神的聖所與偶像有什麼相同呢？要知道，我們是永生神的聖所，正如神所說：「我將要在他們中間居住，在他們中間往來；我將要做他們的神，他們將要做我的子民。」
