As soon as Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly and said,“ Blessed be the Lord this day, who has given to David a wise son to be over this great people.”

When Hiram heard Solomon’s words, he greatly rejoiced and said,“ May the Lord be praised today! He has given David a wise son to be over this great people!”

And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed[ be] the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

When Hiram heard Solomon’s message, he was very happy. He said,“ The LORD is worthy of praise today because he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation.”

When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said,“ Blessed is Yahweh today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”

Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

Then Hiram the king of Tyre answered in a letter that he sent to Solomon,“ Because the Lord loves his people, he has made you king over them.”Hiram also said,“ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, who has discretion and understanding, who will build a temple for the Lord and a royal palace for himself.

Happy are your wives! Happy are these your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God! Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.

Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!“ May they be secure who love you!Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!”

A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.

And when Esau lifted up his eyes and saw the women and children, he said,“ Who are these with you?” Jacob said,“ The children whom God has graciously given your servant.”

A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”
