Solomon replied,“ You showed great and faithful love to your servant my father, David, because he was honest and true and faithful to you. And you have continued to show this great and faithful love to him today by giving him a son to sit on his throne.

所罗门说：“你的仆人——我父大卫本着诚实、公义、正直的心在你面前行事，你就向他大施恩慈，并且一如既往地以厚恩待他，让他儿子今天继承他的王位。

所罗门说：“你仆人我父亲大卫以诚实、公义和正直的心在你面前行事为人，你就以极大的慈爱待他；你又为他存留这极大的慈爱，赐给他一个儿子坐在他的王位上，正如今日一样。

所羅門說：「你僕人－我父親大衛用誠實、公義、正直的心行在你面前，你就向他大施恩典，又為他存留大恩，賜他一個兒子坐在他的位上，正如今日一樣。

所羅門說：「你的僕人——我父大衛本著誠實、公義、正直的心在你面前行事，你就向他大施恩慈，並且一如既往地以厚恩待他，讓他兒子今天繼承他的王位。

所羅門說：“你僕人我父親大衛以誠實、公義和正直的心在你面前行事為人，你就以極大的慈愛待他；你又為他存留這極大的慈愛，賜給他一個兒子坐在他的王位上，正如今日一樣。

所羅門說：『你僕人我父親大衛怎樣以忠信、公義、正直的心、與你同在、行於你面前，你就怎樣向他施大而堅固的愛，又將這大而堅固的愛留給他，賜給他一個兒子坐他的王位，正如今日一樣。

所羅門曰、昔爾僕我父大衛、以誠實公義中正、行於爾前、爾循是而施以鴻恩、復加厚惠、賜之一子、踐乎其位、有如今日、

所羅門曰、昔我父大闢、真實無妄、行善為義於爾前、爾施厚恩、使子繼其位、今日之事為證。

所羅門曰、主之僕我父大衛以誠實善義正心、行於主前、主向之施鴻恩、又為之存此大恩、使其子繼繼原文作坐其位、有如今日、

Solomon answered,“ You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.

Solomon answered,“ You have been very kind to my father David, your servant. That’s because he was faithful to you. He did what was right. His heart was honest. And you have continued to be very kind to him. You have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

And Solomon said,“ You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

And Solomon replied,“ You have shown great and faithful love to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and integrity. You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

Then Solomon said,“ You have shown great faithfulness to Your servant David my father, according as he walked before You in truth, righteousness, and uprightness of heart toward You; and You have reserved for him this great faithfulness, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

And Solomon said:“ You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

And Solomon said, Thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great lovingkindness, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great lovingkindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

And Solomon replied,“ You have shown great and faithful love to Your servant, my father David, because he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and integrity. You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as[ it is] this day.

Solomon replied,“ You demonstrated great loyalty to your servant, my father David, as he served you faithfully, properly, and sincerely. You have maintained this great loyalty to this day by allowing his son to sit on his throne.

Solomon said,“ You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, because he walked before you in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

and he said,‘ Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who today has chosen a successor to sit on my throne while I am still alive to see it.’”

“ As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,

If you do this, then the Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He told me,‘ If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!And I will provide a homeland for my people Israel, planting them in a secure place where they will never be disturbed. Evil nations won’t oppress them as they’ve done in the past,starting from the time I appointed judges to rule my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ Furthermore, the Lord declares that he will make a house for you— a dynasty of kings!For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong.

“ The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted!He is the God who pays back those who harm me; he brings down the nations under meand delivers me from my enemies. You hold me safe beyond the reach of my enemies; you save me from violent opponents.For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.You give great victories to your king; you show unfailing love to your anointed, to David and all his descendants forever.”

The Lord rewarded me for doing right; he restored me because of my innocence.For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not turned from my God to follow evil.I have followed all his regulations; I have never abandoned his decrees.I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin.The Lord rewarded me for doing right. He has seen my innocence.

Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.“ O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!

Then Nathan said to David,“ You are that man! The Lord, the God of Israel, says: I anointed you king of Israel and saved you from the power of Saul.I gave you your master’s house and his wives and the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. And if that had not been enough, I would have given you much, much more.

So I thought I should send these brothers ahead of me to make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift, not one given grudgingly.

Let my soul be at rest again, for the Lord has been good to me.

But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust.

“ Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.

Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord has declared: Are you the one to build a house for me to live in?

Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.

He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens.He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants— God’s own people, Israel.He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

For David had done what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight and had obeyed the Lord’s commands throughout his life, except in the affair concerning Uriah the Hittite.
