I grant your request, and give you a wise and discerning mind superior to that of anyone who has preceded or will succeed you.

I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.

I will give it to you. I will give you a wise and understanding heart. So here is what will be true of you. There has never been anyone like you. And there never will be.

behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.

I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have!

I will therefore do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you before and never will be again.

I thought to myself,“ I have become much wiser than any of my predecessors who ruled over Jerusalem; I have acquired much wisdom and knowledge.”

So the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he had promised him. And Hiram and Solomon were at peace and made a treaty.

King Solomon was wealthier and wiser than any of the kings of the earth.Everyone in the world wanted to visit Solomon to see him display his God-given wisdom.

When all Israel heard about the judicial decision which the king had rendered, they respected the king, for they realized that he possessed supernatural wisdom to make judicial decisions.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.

Do to him what you think is appropriate, but don’t let him live long and die a peaceful death.

But now don’t treat him as if he were innocent. You are a wise man and you know how to handle him; make sure he has a bloody death.”

Huram also said,“ Worthy of praise is the LORD God of Israel, who made the sky and the earth! He has given David a wise son who has discernment and insight and will build a temple for the LORD, as well as a royal palace for himself.

God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment; the breadth of his understanding was as infinite as the sand on the seashore.Solomon was wiser than all the men of the east and all the sages of Egypt.He was wiser than any man, including Ethan the Ezrahite or Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. He was famous in all the neighboring nations.He composed 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs.He produced manuals on botany, describing every kind of plant, from the cedars of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows on walls. He also produced manuals on biology, describing animals, birds, insects, and fish.People from all nations came to hear Solomon’s display of wisdom; they came from all the kings of the earth who heard about his wisdom.

I decided to carefully and thoroughly examine all that has been accomplished on earth. I concluded: God has given people a burdensome task that keeps them occupied.

Solomon answered all her questions; there was no question too complex for the king.When the queen of Sheba saw for herself Solomon’s extensive wisdom, the palace he had built,the food in his banquet hall, his servants and attendants, their robes, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings which he presented in the LORD’s temple, she was amazed.She said to the king,“ The report I heard in my own country about your wise sayings and insight was true!I did not believe these things until I came and saw them with my own eyes. Indeed, I didn’t hear even half the story! Your wisdom and wealth surpass what was reported to me.Your attendants, who stand before you at all times and hear your wise sayings, are truly happy!

For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

Before they even call out, I will respond; while they are still speaking, I will hear.

LORD, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

God said to Solomon,“ Because you desire this, and did not ask for riches, wealth, and honor, or for vengeance on your enemies, and because you did not ask for long life, but requested wisdom and discernment so you can make judicial decisions for my people over whom I have made you king,you are granted wisdom and discernment. Furthermore I am giving you riches, wealth, and honor surpassing that of any king before or after you.”

She said to the king,“ The report I heard in my own country about your wise sayings and insight was true!I did not believe these things until I came and saw them with my own eyes. Indeed, I didn’t hear even half the story! Your wisdom surpasses what was reported to me.Your attendants, who stand before you at all times and hear your wise sayings, are truly happy!May the LORD your God be praised because he favored you by placing you on his throne as the one ruling on his behalf! Because of your God’s love for Israel and his lasting commitment to them, he made you king over them so you could make just and right decisions.”

The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon– and now, something greater than Solomon is here!
