God said to him,“ Because you asked for the ability to make wise judicial decisions, and not for long life, or riches, or vengeance on your enemies,

神对他说：“你既然求这事，不为自己求寿、求富，也不求灭绝你仇敌的性命，单求智慧可以听讼，

上帝对他说：“你既然求这事，不为自己求寿、求富，也不求灭绝你仇敌的性命，只求能明辨，可以听讼，

神对他说：“你既然求这事，不为自己求寿、求富，也不求灭绝你仇敌的性命，只求能明辨，可以听讼，

对他说：“既然你不为自己求寿、求财富，也不求灭绝仇敌，只求有智慧治理我的子民，

神对他说：“因为你求这事，不为自己求长寿，不为自己求财富，也不求你仇敌的性命，单单为自己求聪明可以明辨是非公平，

神對他說：「你既然求這事，不為自己求壽、求富，也不求滅絕你仇敵的性命，單求智慧可以聽訟，

上帝對他說：「你既然求這事，不為自己求壽、求富，也不求滅絕你仇敵的性命，只求能明辨，可以聽訟，

神對他說：「你既然求這事，不為自己求壽、求富，也不求滅絕你仇敵的性命，只求能明辨，可以聽訟，

對他說：「既然你不為自己求壽、求財富，也不求滅絕仇敵，只求有智慧治理我的子民，

神對他說：“因為你求這事，不為自己求長壽，不為自己求財富，也不求你仇敵的性命，單單為自己求聰明可以明辨是非公平，

上帝對他說：『你既祈求這事，不為自己祈求長壽，不為自己祈求財富，也不祈求滅仇敵的性命，單單祈求聰明、可以聽案件，

上帝曰、因爾求此、不求壽富、亦不求滅敵之命、惟求智慧以聽訟、

謂之曰、爾不求遐齡、巨富、勝敵、乃求聰慧、可以聽訟、

天主謂之曰、爾既求此、不求壽、不求富、亦不求勝敵、但求智慧、俾可聽訟、

So God said to him,“ Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice,

So God said to him,“ You have not asked to live for a long time. You have not asked to be wealthy. You have not even asked to have your enemies killed. Instead, you have asked for wisdom. You want to do what is right and fair when you judge people. Because that is what you have asked for,

And God said to him,“ Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right,

So God replied,“ Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life or wealth or the death of your enemies—

So God said to him,“ Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to administer justice,

And God said to him,“ Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself a long life, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself discernment to understand justice,

Then God said to him:“ Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice,

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life, neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern justice;

So God said to him,“ Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to understand justice,

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

God said to him,“ Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;

So give your servant a discerning mind so he can make judicial decisions for your people and distinguish right from wrong. Otherwise no one is able to make judicial decisions for this great nation of yours.”

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.

Many say,“ Who can show us anything good?” Smile upon us, LORD!

He said to her,“ What do you want?” She replied,“ Permit these two sons of mine to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom.”Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” They said to him,“ We are able.”

You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask;you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.

Gray hair is like a crown of glory; it is attained in the path of righteousness.
