The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

王对他说：“我当嘱咐你几次，你才奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要你发誓多少次，你才会奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要你发誓多少次，你才会奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王却说：“我要嘱咐你多少次，你才肯奉耶和华的名对我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要嘱咐你多少次，你才奉耶和华的名对我只说真话呢？”

王對他說：「我當囑咐你幾次，你才奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王對他說：「我要你發誓多少次，你才會奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王對他說：「我要你發誓多少次，你才會奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王卻說：「我要囑咐你多少次，你才肯奉耶和華的名對我說實話呢？」

王對他說：“我要囑咐你多少次，你才奉耶和華的名對我只說真話呢？”

王對他說：『我須要誓囑你幾次，你才奉永恆主的名不對我說別的、只說實話呢？』

王曰、我須幾次囑爾、奉耶和華名與我言、惟以誠實乎、

王曰、我豈不屢使爾、奉耶和華命、當以真實告我乎。

王謂之曰、我豈不屢使爾發誓、爾奉主名告我、惟以真實而告乎、

The king said to him,“ I’ve made you promise to tell the truth many times before. So don’t tell me anything but the truth in the name of the Lord.”

But the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

But the king replied sharply,“ How many times must I demand that you speak only the truth to me when you speak for the Lord?”

But the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of the LORD?”

Then the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear that you will tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

So the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

But the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but[ that which is] true in the name of the LORD?

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you solemnly promise in the name of the LORD to tell me only the truth?”

The king said to him,“ How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

Pray that the Lord your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do.”“ I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet.“ I will certainly pray to the Lord your God as you have requested; I will tell you everything the Lord says and will keep nothing back from you.”Then they said to Jeremiah,“ May the Lord be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not act in accordance with everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us.Whether it is favorable or unfavorable, we will obey the Lord our God, to whom we are sending you, so that it will go well with us, for we will obey the Lord our God.”

Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon- possessed. They would say,“ In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.”

He shouted at the top of his voice,“ What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!”

They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are.Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?”

Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:“ Cursed before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:“ At the cost of his firstborn son he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates.”

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”
