But Micaiah replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what the Lord tells me to say.”

米该雅回答说：“我凭永活的耶和华起誓，耶和华对我说什么，我就说什么。”

米该雅说：“我指着永活的耶和华起誓，耶和华吩咐我什么，我就说什么。”

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華對我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華向我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華向我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅回答說：「我憑永活的耶和華起誓，耶和華對我說什麼，我就說什麼。」

米該雅說：“我指著永活的耶和華起誓，耶和華吩咐我甚麼，我就說甚麼。”

米該雅說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓，永恆主對我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。』

米該雅曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、耶和華所諭我者、我必言之、

米該亞曰、我指耶和華以誓、必循耶和華命而言。

米該雅曰、我指永生主而誓、主所諭我者、我必言之、

But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.”

But Micaiah said,“ You can be sure that the Lord lives. And here is something you can be just as sure of. I can only tell the king what the Lord tells me to say.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, what the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the LORD lives, I will say whatever the LORD says to me.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, I shall speak it.”

And Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”

And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, I will say whatever the Lord says to me.”

And Micaiah said,[ As] the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

But Micaiah said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives, I will say what the LORD tells me to say.”

Micaiah said,“ As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”

‘ Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord.’ I told you that I could say only what the Lord says!

But Balaam responded to Balak’s messengers,“ Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God.

“ This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard in front of the Temple of the Lord, and make an announcement to the people who have come there to worship from all over Judah. Give them my entire message; include every word.Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change my mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins.

We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

Balaam replied,“ Look, now I have come, but I have no power to say whatever I want. I will speak only the message that God puts in my mouth.”

But Elijah said,“ I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”

For I swear by the Lord your God that the king has searched every nation and kingdom on earth from end to end to find you. And each time he was told,‘ Elijah isn’t here,’ King Ahab forced the king of that nation to swear to the truth of his claim.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

“ Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately.If I warn the wicked, saying,‘ You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths.If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.

“ All right,” Jeremiah replied.“ I will pray to the Lord your God, as you have asked, and I will tell you everything he says. I will hide nothing from you.”

“ Let these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. There is a difference between straw and grain!

Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him,“ Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.”But Micaiah replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what my God says.”

I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.

You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.

They are a stubborn and hard hearted people. But I am sending you to say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’And whether they listen or refuse to listen— for remember, they are rebels— at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.“ Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels.You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!Son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not join them in their rebellion. Open your mouth, and eat what I give you.”
