But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.”

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華對我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華向我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，耶和華向我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」

米該雅回答說：「我憑永活的耶和華起誓，耶和華對我說什麼，我就說什麼。」

米該雅說：“我指著永活的耶和華起誓，耶和華吩咐我甚麼，我就說甚麼。”

米該雅說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓，永恆主對我說甚麼，我就說甚麼。』

米該雅曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、耶和華所諭我者、我必言之、

米該亞曰、我指耶和華以誓、必循耶和華命而言。

米該雅曰、我指永生主而誓、主所諭我者、我必言之、

But Micaiah said,“ You can be sure that the Lord lives. And here is something you can be just as sure of. I can only tell the king what the Lord tells me to say.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, what the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”

But Micaiah replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what the Lord tells me to say.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the LORD lives, I will say whatever the LORD says to me.”

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, I shall speak it.”

And Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”

And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.

But Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, I will say whatever the Lord says to me.”

And Micaiah said,[ As] the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

But Micaiah said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives, I will say what the LORD tells me to say.”

Micaiah said,“ As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”

‘ Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord— and I must say only what the Lord says’?

But Balaam answered them,“ Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord my God.

“ This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

“ Well, I have come to you now,” Balaam replied.“ But I can’t say whatever I please. I must speak only what God puts in my mouth.”

Elijah said,“ As the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I will surely present myself to Ahab today.”

As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is not a nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look for you. And whenever a nation or kingdom claimed you were not there, he made them swear they could not find you.

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.When I say to a wicked person,‘ You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

“ I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet.“ I will certainly pray to the Lord your God as you have requested; I will tell you everything the Lord says and will keep nothing back from you.”

Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the Lord.

The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him,“ Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.”But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what my God says.”

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.

Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’And whether they listen or fail to listen— for they are a rebellious people— they will know that a prophet has been among them.And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious people; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”
