往召米該雅之使謂之曰、諸先知眾口一辭、以吉語告王、請爾與彼同辭、告以吉語、

奉遣之使告米該亞曰、諸先知眾口一辭、以休徵進告於王、爾亦當言與彼無異。

A messenger went to get Micaiah. He said to him,“ Look. The other prophets agree. All of them are saying the king will have success. So agree with them. Say the same thing they do.”

And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him,“ Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.”

Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him,“ Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.”

The messenger who went to call Micaiah instructed him,“ Look, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable for the king. So let your words be like theirs, and speak favorably.”

Then the messenger who went to summon Micaiah spoke to him saying,“ Behold now, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable to the king. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.”

Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying,“ Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.”

And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.

The messenger who went to call Micaiah instructed him,“ Look, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable for the king. So let your words be like theirs, and speak favorably.”

And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets[ declare] good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak[ that which is] good.

Now the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him,“ Look, the prophets are in complete agreement that the king will succeed. Your words must agree with theirs; you must predict success.”

The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying,“ See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”

“ They delight the king with their wickedness, the princes with their lies.

Don’t prophesy anymore at Bethel, because this is the king’s sanctuary and the temple of the kingdom.”Amos answered Amaziah,“ I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore- fig trees.But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’Now then, hear the word of the Lord. You say,“‘ Do not prophesy against Israel, and stop preaching against the descendants of Isaac.’“ Therefore this is what the Lord says:“‘ Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be measured and divided up, and you yourself will die in a pagan country. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land.’”

When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.

The fool says in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

If a liar and deceiver comes and says,‘ I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’ that would be just the prophet for this people!

“ Do not prophesy,” their prophets say.“ Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us.”You descendants of Jacob, should it be said,“ Does the Lord become impatient? Does he do such things?”“ Do not my words do good to the one whose ways are upright?

They say to the seers,“ See no more visions!” and to the prophets,“ Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.Leave this way, get off this path, and stop confronting us with the Holy One of Israel!”

In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me:“ Flee like a bird to your mountain.

He says to himself,“ God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.”

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,for,“ Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
