Some time later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

Some time later King Ahab wanted a certain vineyard. It belonged to Naboth from Jezreel. The vineyard was in Jezreel. It was close to the palace of Ahab, the king of Samaria.

Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

霎時間，天上烏雲密佈，狂風大作，下起大雨。亞哈坐著馬車回耶斯列。耶和華的靈降在以利亞身上，他就束上腰帶，飛奔回城，在亞哈之前到達耶斯列的城門。

亞哈斯在患難時越發悖逆耶和華，

那時，米甸人、亞瑪力人及東方人一起過了約旦河，在耶斯列的平原安營。

耶和華啊，你要的不是誠實嗎？你責打他們，他們不感到疼痛；你嚴懲他們，他們仍不受教。他們屢教不改，臉比石頭還硬。

非利士人把全部軍隊聚集在亞弗，以色列軍則在耶斯列水泉旁紮營。

他們的土地包括耶斯列、基蘇律、書念、

耶和華對何西阿說：「給他取名叫耶斯列，因為再過不久，我就要因耶戶家在耶斯列的屠殺而懲罰他們，消滅以色列國。那時，我要在耶斯列平原折斷以色列的弓。」

但以色列人沒有歸向萬軍之耶和華，也不尋求祂。

眾先知中有一位奉耶和華的命令對他的同伴說：「你打我吧！」同伴卻不肯動手。那位先知就對他說：「既然你不聽從耶和華的吩咐，你一離開我，就會被獅子咬死。」那同伴走後，果然遇見獅子，被咬死了。那先知又找了一個人，叫那人打他，那人就打他，把他打傷了。先知用頭巾蒙著眼睛，喬裝改扮，在路旁等候亞哈王。亞哈王經過的時候，他向王喊道：「僕人在打仗的時候，有人押來一個俘虜，要我看管，他說如果俘虜跑掉，我就要以性命抵償或賠償三十四公斤銀子。可是那俘虜趁僕人忙亂之際跑掉了。」亞哈王說：「這是你自己的過失，你要自負其咎。」先知立刻拿去蒙眼的頭巾，以色列王認出他是個先知。他對王說：「耶和華說，『你放走了我決定要毀滅的人，所以你的命要抵他的命，你百姓的命要抵他百姓的命。』」以色列王悶悶不樂地回撒瑪利亞的王宮去了。

「雖然因為我們的惡行和大罪，這一切事情臨到我們，但我們的上帝啊，你給我們的懲罰比我們該受的輕多了，你還施恩給我們留下這些餘民。我們豈能再違背你的誡命，與這些行為可憎的人通婚？若我們這樣行，你豈不發怒毀滅我們，使我們無一倖免嗎？
