有一個神人走近前來見以色列王說：『永恆主這麼說：「亞蘭人既說：『永恆主是山神，不是山谷的神』，那麼我就要將這一大隊蜂擁軍兵都交在你手裏，你們便知道我乃是永恆主。」』

有上帝僕進見以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之神、非平原之神、故我必以此羣眾付於爾手、爾則知我乃耶和華、

上帝之僕至、告以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之上帝、非平原之上帝、故我必以此實繁有徒、付於爾手、使爾知我乃耶和華。

有神人進前、告以色列王曰、主如是云、亞蘭人言我乃山岳之神、非平原之神、故我必以此大軍旅付於爾手、使爾知我乃主、

The man of God came up and told the king of Israel,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord.’”

The man of God came up to the king of Israel again. He told him,“ The Lord says,‘ The men of Aram think the Lord is a god of the hills. They do not think he is a god of the valleys. So I, the Lord, will hand their huge army over to you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

And a man of God came near and said to the king of Israel,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

Then the man of God went to the king of Israel and said,“ This is what the Lord says: The Arameans have said,‘ The Lord is a god of the hills and not of the plains.’ So I will defeat this vast army for you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because the Arameans have said,“ The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over all this whole huge army to you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

Then a man of God approached and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Since the Arameans have said,“ The Lord is a god of mountains, but He is not a god of valleys,” therefore I will hand over to you all this great multitude, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ”

Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

And a man of God came near and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, Because the Syrians have said, Jehovah is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys; therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thy hand, and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because the Arameans have said: Yahweh is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys, I will hand over all this great army to you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD[ is] God of the hills, but he[ is] not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.

The prophet visited the king of Israel and said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because the Syrians said,“ The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over to you this entire huge army. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Yahweh says,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ Yahweh is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys;” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.’”

我必伸手攻擊他們，使他們居住的地方，從曠野到第伯拉他，變得極其荒涼。這樣，他們便知道我是耶和華。」

主啊，現在以色列人被仇敵打敗，我還有什麼話可說呢？迦南人和這一帶的人聽到這消息以後，必從四面八方來圍攻我們，將我們從地上斬盡殺絕。那時候，你的威名又何在呢？」

埃及人看見我伸手攻擊他們、把以色列人帶出埃及，就會知道我是耶和華。」

我顧惜我的聖名，就是以色列人在所去的列國褻瀆的聖名。「因此，你要告訴以色列人，主耶和華這樣說，『以色列人啊，我要行這事並非因為你們的緣故，而是因為我聖名的緣故，就是你們在所去列國褻瀆的聖名。我要使我偉大的名，就是你們在列國中所褻瀆的名，彰顯它的聖潔。我要當著列國的面在你們身上彰顯我的聖潔，那時他們就知道我是耶和華。這是主耶和華說的。

主耶和華說，你們應當知道，我這樣做並不是為了你們。以色列人啊，你們應當為自己的行為抱愧蒙羞。』

先知又來見以色列王，說：「你要加強防衛，做好準備，因為明年春天亞蘭王必捲土重來。」臣僕給亞蘭王獻計說：「以色列人的神是山神，所以他們佔了上風，我們若在平原上跟他們交戰，一定會取勝。

然而，我要使他們當中一些人免遭刀劍、饑荒和瘟疫，使他們可以在各國供述自己一切可憎的事。他們就知道我是耶和華。」

祂充滿力量和智慧。騙子和受騙者都在祂權下。祂使謀士赤身被擄，使審判官愚拙不堪。祂除去君王的腰帶，在他們腰間綁上囚索。祂使祭司赤身被擄，祂推翻久握大權者。

但那天，我子民居住的歌珊卻絲毫不會受攪擾，這樣你就知道我耶和華主宰天下。

因為你向我發怒，你狂傲的話達到了我耳中，我要用鉤子鉤住你的鼻子，把嚼環放在你嘴裡，使你原路返回。』「希西迦啊，我要給你一個兆頭。你們今年明年要吃野生的，後年要撒種，收割，栽種葡萄園，吃園中的果子。猶大的倖存者要再次向下扎根，向上結果。因為將有餘民從耶路撒冷出來，有倖存者從錫安山出來。萬軍之耶和華必熱切地成就這事。至於亞述王，耶和華說，『他必不能進城或向這裡射一箭，必不能手持盾牌兵臨城下或修築攻城的高臺。他必原路返回，不得進入這城。這是耶和華說的。我必為自己和我僕人大衛而保護、拯救這城。』」於是，耶和華的天使到亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。人們清早起來，發現到處是屍體。亞述王西拿基立便拔營回國，住在尼尼微。

我要接納你們做我的子民，我要做你們的上帝。這樣，你們就知道我是你們的上帝耶和華，曾救你們脫離埃及人的轄制。

義人必因惡人遭報而歡欣，並用惡人的血洗腳。這樣，人們必說：「義人終有善報，確實有一位審判天下的上帝。」

耶和華啊，雖然我們的罪控告我們，我們屢屢叛逆得罪你，求你為了自己的尊名而拯救我們。

但我不願讓敵人誇口，宣稱這是他們的勝利，而非我的作為。』

為何讓列邦說：「他們的上帝在哪裡？」求你讓我們親眼看見，也讓列邦都知道，你為自己被害的子民伸冤。

你們沒有吃餅，也沒有喝淡酒和烈酒。這是為了讓你們知道耶和華是你們的上帝。

但我沒有這樣做，以免我的名在他們寄居的列邦面前被褻瀆。因為列邦親眼看見我向以色列人顯現，把他們帶出埃及。

這時，耶和華的靈降在雅哈悉身上。雅哈悉是利未人亞薩的後裔、瑪探雅的玄孫、耶利的曾孫、比拿雅的孫子、撒迦利雅的兒子。他說：「全體猶大人、耶路撒冷的居民和約沙法王啊，你們要留心聽！耶和華對你們如此說，『你們不要因敵軍強大而恐懼驚慌，因為戰爭的勝敗不在乎你們，而在乎上帝。明天你們下去迎敵，敵軍會從洗斯坡上來，你們一定會在耶魯伊勒曠野前面的谷口遇見他們。你們不用與他們交戰，只要守住陣勢，站立不動，看耶和華為你們施行拯救。猶大人和耶路撒冷人啊，不要恐懼，不要驚慌，明天只管出去迎敵，耶和華必與你們同在！』」於是，約沙法面伏於地，所有猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民也都俯伏在耶和華面前敬拜祂。哥轄族和可拉族的利未人都站起來，高聲讚美以色列的上帝耶和華。第二天清晨，眾人起來去提哥亞的曠野。他們出發的時候，約沙法站著說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民啊，請聽我說！要信靠你們的上帝耶和華，你們就必堅立；要相信祂的先知，你們就必得勝。」

「『我要讓我的以色列子民知道我的聖名，不再讓我的聖名被褻瀆。這樣列國就知道我是耶和華——以色列的聖者。

但我沒有這樣做，以免我的名在周圍列邦面前被褻瀆，因為列邦親眼看見我向以色列人顯現，把他們帶出埃及。

有一位上帝的僕人奉耶和華的命令從猶大來到伯特利。那時，耶羅波安正站在祭壇旁燒香。
